Job Title: Accountant (Intern)

Job Description

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Intern to join our team. 
• The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, support financial reporting, and contribute to the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor discrepancies in payments, monitor for charges made on credit cards, and record any returns.
• Organize a financial filing system that is systematic and easily accessible.
• Prepare accounting reports and summaries to be presented to senior management.
• Track all payments made for tax preparation and follow up on tax return submissions.
• Communicate with clients regarding payments, refunds, and financial statements.
• Ensure timely distribution of financial statements to all clients.
• Verify the accuracy of financial statements, ensuring that all final figures are correct.
• Assist with the balancing and reconciliation of the office/department budget.
• Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in maintaining accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
• Help perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Participate in internal audits and inventory checks when required.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed.
• Stay updated on current financial regulations and accounting principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, HND or OND program in Accounting,
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Use of accounting software is an added advantage.

Salary
N800,000 - N100,000 / month.
