Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Lagos

Job Summary
Role of managing all costs associated with our construction projects, from the initial design phase through to completion.
Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Planning:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine quantity requirements.
Develop and maintain cost plans and track expenditures against budgets.
Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Tendering and Procurement:
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with architects and engineers.
Manage the tendering process, including pre-qualification of contractors, bid evaluation, and negotiation.
Advise on procurement strategies and the selection of appropriate contractors and subcontractors.
Contract Administration:
Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Monitor and value the work of subcontractors and process payments.
Assess and manage variations to the contract, including cost implications and approvals.
Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
Cost Control and Reporting:
Monitor project progress and costs, identifying and reporting any deviations from the budget.
Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts.
Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance work.
Maintain accurate records of all project-related costs and financial transactions.
Risk Management:
Identify, analyze, and developresponses to commercial risks.
Advise on risk management strategies and cost control measures.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to manage project costs effectively.
Communicate cost-related information clearly and concisely to all relevant parties.
Participate in project meetings and provide cost-related advice.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure projects comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including building codes and health and safety standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date on construction industry trends, cost data, and regulations.
Contribute to the development and implementation of cost management strategies within theorganization.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess an OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree with 0-2 years experience.
Strong negotiation, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with relevant Nigerian building regulations and standards is an advantage.
Results-oriented with a focus on delivering value for money.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must reside on the mainland, Lagos
