Job Title:Plant Operator
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Summary
The Plant Operator is an extension of the Panel Operator.
This position monitors and adjusts equipment in the process unit as directed by the Panel Operator.
Key Responsibilities
The Plant Operator is responsible for sampling and testing samples and reporting results to the Panel Operator.
Operate processing equipment and log equipment checks, adhering to standard operating procedures and optimizing plant efficiencies.
Support smooth refinery plant operations by coordinating with plant management.
Regulate valves, compressors, pumps, and auxiliary equipment to direct product flow.
Analyze specifications and control petroleum refining and processing unit operations to produce fuel through distillation, absorption, extraction, and catalytic cracking.
Inspect and adjust damper controls, heaters, and furnaces.
Conduct unit visits to verify efficient operating conditions.
Test liquids and gases for chemical characteristics and color.
Read temperature and pressure gauges and flowmeters, record readings, and compile records.
Inspect equipment to determine the nature and location of malfunctions, such as faulty valves, breakages, and leaks.
Clean processing units' interiors by circulating solvents and chemicals.
Determine malfunctioning units using meters, gauges, lights, and horn sounds.
Interpret processing schedules, operate logs, and test results of oil and product samples; identify equipment control changes needed to produce specified product quantity and quality.
Comply with best practices, standard operating procedures, and process safety fundamentals; develop and maintain continuous improvement efforts.
Participate in the control of processing units' maintenance activities.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum of OND in Chemical, Petroleum, or Petrochemical Engineering, or its equivalent.
Three (3) years of relevant experience in a refinery or similar process plant.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Prior working experience in an Oil & Gas processing plant is preferred.
