Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Full-time

Position Description

• This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery on the flow station and gas plant in a bid to ensure the smooth running of all machinery.  

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Respond to all notifications of breakdown/malfunction, diagnose faults, and recommend repair of equipment  Manage budgets for all machine components, fixtures, and fittings
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE policy   
• Create maintenance procedures  
• Manage stock of supplies and equipment.
• Perform repairs on malfunctioning motors, controls, pumps, and other components   
• Ensure the safe utilization of tools, lifting trucks, hoists, tools
• Help in the safe operation of machines to meet known standards and enhance productivity and efficiency. In addition, help with troubleshooting of equipment problems 
• Observe conditions of equipment through vibration analysis and lubrication 
• Perform quality improvement and cost reduction as required
• Participate in knowledge sharing in areas of operations and maintenance so the team is kept up to date with current and relevant knowledge
• Oversee mechanical devices while in operation and listen for complications using accurate testing and measuring instruments.
• Take out inoperative parts of faulty equipment with the use of cranes, hoists, hand power tools and observe texture and form of parts.
• Ascertain changes in dimensional requisite parts by examining used parts and utilizing micrometers, rules, calipers, and other measuring appliances.
• Regulate downtimes by enlightening the production operation staff on standard preventive maintenance methods and monitoring their compliance.
• Ensure all maintenance work orders are closed out timely.

Minimum Requirements

• OND or HND Mechanical Engineering 
• Three years of working experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, process, controls and automation in Oil and Gas facilities

• Knowledge of the oil and gas HSE policies and practices.

• Knowledge of predictive, preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance procedures. 
• Ability to learn and use the latest ERP software to plan and execute maintenance work orders.
