We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Treasury Sales Officer 

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Monitor and manage bank-wide flow of funds to ensure operational liquidity and offer prudent and efficient Asset and Liabilities Management solutions to the Bank.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the Bank’s asset and deposit liability mix and identify/recommend alternative investment vehicles that will help optimise the Bank’s asset and deposit liability portfolio.
  • Monitor Asset portfolio and obligations such as pledges, placements and securities holdings.
  • Assist to promote treasury products and provide treasury advisory services to corporate customers.
  • Work on business units' referrals and structure tailor-made products /solutions to suit both customers' hedging and investment needs.
  • Management of money and financial risks in a business.
  • Ensure the business has the money it needs to manage its day-to-day business obligations.
  • Identify and monitor the Bank’s exposure to interest rate and liquidity risk.
  • Help develop long-term financial strategies and policies.
  • Provides a means for an organization to effectively manage its liquidity.
  • Minimize risk exposure and maximize the efficient use of resources.
  • Review future liabilities for cost minimization.
  • Identify and monitor the Bank’s exposure to interest rate and liquidity risk.
  • Work closely with the Head, Treasury Sales / Enterprise Risk Management Unit on developing funding and contingency plans.
  • Manage Money Market database.
  • Generate reports using vendor models and available internal systems and monitor results against internal guidelines and Board approved limits.
  • Prepare reports (rate risk analysis, money market reports, ALCO minutes etc.) to be presented at the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) meeting and circulated as appropriate.
  • Recommend strategies in compliance with the relevant regulatory provisions, for maintaining an optional balance between liquidity and profitability.
  • Monitor and manage bank-wide flow of funds (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly) to ensure operational liquidity.
  • Carry out daily environmental scans to aid dealers’ decisions.
  • Prepare all relevant documents required by management from the Treasury Department (such as annual budget showing capital & Operating Expense as well as Treasury Income Report).
  • Develop and manage fund transfer pricing system for fund allocation and interest rate risk management.

Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required

  • Minimum of First Degree in a relevant discipline such as Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as ACCA, ACA, CFA, ACI, CTP and/or a second degree are added advantages.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Banking or Financial Services industry.

  • Fund sourcing: Level / amount of cheap funds sourced for the Bank from Portfolio and Asset Management Companies.
  • Profitability: Level of profitability from all transactions.
  • Counter parties: Level of appropriateness of the Banks portfolio mix at all times.
