The Production and Inventory personnel is responsible for the seamless flow of materials from receipt to finished goods dispatch.
This role acts as a central point of contact between the sales, production, and logistics teams, ensuring efficient material allocation, production tracking, inventory accuracy, and timely order fulfillment.
The Personnel will also be responsible for providing regular reports on these activities.
Key Responsibilities
Order Processing and Material Allocation:
Receive and review production orders from the sales team.
Determine and allocate necessary raw materials and components based on production requirements and inventory levels.
Create material requisitions or transfer orders as needed.
Maintain accurate records of material allocation for each production order.
Production Monitoring and Tracking:
Monitor the progress of production orders through various stages.
Track material consumption during the production process.
Identify and report any material shortages, discrepancies, or potential delays.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient material utilization.
Finished Goods Management and Logistics:
Receive and verify completed production orders.
Maintain accurate records of finished goods inventory.
Coordinate with the logistics team for the timely dispatch of finished goods according to sales orders.
Prepare necessary shipping documentation and ensure proper labeling.
Materials Receiving and Inventory Management:
Receive and inspect incoming raw materials and components.
Verify the quantity and quality of delivered materials against purchase orders.
Update inventory records accurately and promptly.
Organize and maintain the storage of raw materials in a logical and accessible manner.
Manage material release based on production schedules and sales order requirements, ensuring FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles are followed where applicable.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate weekly reports on material consumption, production progress, finished goods inventory, and dispatch activities.
Identify trends and potential issues related to material flow and inventory management.
Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements.
Assist with periodic inventory audits and reconciliations.
Communication and Coordination:
Maintain clear and effective communication with the sales, production, and logistics teams.
Escalate any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
Participate in relevant meetings to provide updates and insights.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
A strong foundation in inventory management principles and production processes is beneficial.
Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar role involving inventory control, production planning, materials management, or logistics coordination, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience using inventory management software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable.
Familiarity with production workflows and basic logistics procedures.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy: Crucial for inventory management and order processing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to interact effectively with different teams.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues.
Basic computer literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is essential.
Numeracy and data analysis skills: Ability to interpret data and generate reports.
Salary
