We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Ondo

Responsibilities
Quality Management:

• Establish and maintain company quality standards aligned with international regulations (EU, FDA) and industry-specific standards

(MRLs, HAPs, mycotoxins, heavy metals).

• Oversee the implementation and compliance with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP).
• Continuously improve quality assurance processes, maintaining robust documentation.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

• Ensure full compliance with international regulatory requirements (EU regulations, FDA requirements) and local food safety laws.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities and certification bodies.

Audits and Inspections:

• Plan and manage internal and external quality audits.
• Coordinate corrective action implementation and ensure effective resolution of audit findings.

Supplier and Raw Material Quality:

• Manage raw material quality inspection and testing procedures.
• Conduct supplier audits and evaluations, ensuring compliance with required standards.

Process Control:

• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality and food safety standards.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve quality deviations through root-cause analysis.

Laboratory Management:

• Supervise laboratory testing activities and validation methods.
• Ensure timely, accurate analytical testing and reporting.

Training and Development:

• Lead training programs in quality standards, food safety, and compliance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive compliance throughout the organization.

Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate risks related to food safety hazards and quality deviations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive food safety risk management strategies.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and deliver regular quality and food safety reports to senior management.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and SOPs related to quality assurance and food safety.

Food Safety Leadership Responsibilities:

• Act as the Food Safety Team Leader, ensuring compliance with HACCP, FSSC 22000, and related food safety standards.
• Develop, implement, and oversee food safety management systems, ensuring effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Lead food safety risk assessments and hazard analyses.
• Conduct regular food safety reviews, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented promptly.
• Provide food safety training and awareness programs to all relevant personnel.
• Ensure prompt and effective response to food safety incidents, including managing recalls or withdrawals as necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Develop standardized production, quality, and customer-service standards
• Identify potential risks before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action
• Perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings
• Build a strong team through coaching, mentoring, specific training and performance evaluations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field.
• Professional certification (CQM, CQA, HACCP, FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor).
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

Skills Required:

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in QMS software, laboratory equipment, and regulatory compliance.
