We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cost Accountant

Locations: Magodo - Lagos and Awe - Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• To provide detailed cost analysis, budgeting, and inventory control to support efficient production planning, profitability analysis, and cost optimization across the food processing value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, raw material usage, labor, and overheads
• Maintain standard costing system and update cost parameters as needed
• Perform variance analysis (actual vs standard costs) and report reasons for deviations
• Monitor and reconcile inventory records and perform periodic stock counts
• Prepare product costings, margin analysis, and profitability reports
• Collaborate with production and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Assist in budget preparation and expense forecasting for production units
• Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Support audits by providing necessary cost documentation and records

Requirements

• B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• ICAN/ACCA certification or part qualification is an added advantage
• 5 years relevant experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance, preferably in FMCG or the food industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Sage, or Navision)
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure

Key Competencies

• Knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost allocation
• Familiarity with food production processes and supply chain costing
• Data analysis and financial reporting.
• Accuracy and accountability.
