Job Title: Operations Lead

Job Summary
The Operations Lead is a senior supervisory role responsible for setting direction, improving efficiency, and driving innovation across all operational departments — including kitchen, procurement, quality control, and packaging.
The Operations Lead provides strategic oversight, ensures cross-functional alignment, and resolves operational bottlenecks before they escalate while overseeing day-to-day execution.
This role requires a forward-thinking professional with deep experience in food production and a strong track record of leading teams to deliver measurable improvements in productivity, process flow, and cost control.
Key Responsibiliites
Provide operational leadership and direction across departments, ensuring that all functions are aligned with overall business goals.
Continuously assess and improve processes for efficiency, cost savings, and quality outcomes.
Mentor and support the Operations Manager and department heads, helping them overcome challenges and build strong internal systems.
Drive collaboration between kitchen, procurement, and quality control teams to ensure consistency and timely delivery of products.
Monitor facility-wide performance metrics and translate them into actionable insights for team improvement.
Lead operational planning and execution for peak seasons, new product lines, or facility expansions.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food production regulations at all times.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Staff productivity (indirect): 90%+ adherence to daily production targets across departments under your oversight.
Operational cost efficiency: Maintain facility operating costs within budget, with a goal of reducing expenses by at least 5% month-on-month.
Issue resolution oversight: Ensure that departmental complaints or incidents are addressed within 24 hours and root causes analyzed.
Inventory system accuracy: Drive continuous improvement to reduce discrepancies to below 2% per month.
Staff retention and engagement: Keep annual turnover rate below 10% through strong team support and culture-building.
Process innovation milestones: Introduce at least one new operational improvement per quarter that enhances efficiency, cost savings, or product quality.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Technology, or a related field.
5–7 years of progressive experience in operations, with at least 3 years in a food production or food service environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead operational change and process improvement in a structured production setting.
Familiarity with food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP) is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, inventory software, and operations tracking tools.
Core Skill Set:
Proven leadership skills with experience managing or coaching mid-level operational staff.
Deep understanding of production workflows, supply chain coordination, and quality assurance in the food sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and drive improvement strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead diverse teams and manage across departments.
Ability to implement systems, SOPs, and tools that streamline operations and improve accountability.
Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
