The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) believes the Bible is for all Nigerians. Traditionally, the work of the BSN is to make the Bible available and affordable. The Society has come to see that provision of the printed text, however well-presented, is only a part of the task. To achieve the most effective and meaningful distribution, the BSN also recognizes the need to develop programmes, using all forms of media to stimulate and facilitate encounter with the biblical text in Churches and public places. We actualize our mission through five major functions, namely: Translation, Publishing, Distribution, Programmes and Fundraising.
To acknowledge gifts from donors of the organization.
Relate with and service existing donors/members of the organisation effectively.
To monitor the ecosystem and court prospective donors for the organisation.
Be an active team member of programmes & events planning for the organisation.
Ability to speak at Churches/Christian bodies’ fellowship to enlist their support for the organisation when the need arises.
Effectively manage existing donors/members to ensure their maximum endorsement and support for the organisation.
Undertake other assigned responsibilities pivotal to the smooth running and success of the BSN.
Qualifications
HND / B.Sc Degree. Masters or MBA (added advantage)
The DMRO should of necessity hold the membership of NIPR, at least with any other professional bodies’ membership being an added advantage.
Personnel Specifications:
Leadership Skill – the DMRO should be proficient in leadership skills with convincing traits and a demonstration of the ability to always lead oneself and readiness for higher responsibility. S/he should be capable of undertaking delegation effectively from the CPRM, other people in the department, and the organisation at large.
Social Skills- great social skills are desired to foster peace and effective team play with colleagues in the department and the organisation at large, as well as effective relations with the public of the organisation, among whom the donors and members are chief.
Communication Skill - ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders is key. S/he should be able to construct convincing appreciation letters to acknowledge gifts from donors and related newsletters about the organisation that prospective donors can easily buy into.
Skills:
Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Office Suites and Excel,Corel Draw, Photoshop, or Canva would provide a strong advantage.
Digital Marketing Skills (desired but not compulsory)
Excellent Spoken and Written Communication Skills
High Organisation Skills
Good Public Relations Skills
Ability to develop flawless and impactful letters and proposals.
Knowledge:
Organisational knowledge (Can be acquired on the job)
The operations of UBS (Can be acquired on the job)
World and Nigerian philanthropic systems
Ability To:
Respond promptly to donors' and prospective donors’ enquiries.
Acknowledge donors’ gifts appropriately not more than 48 hours of receiving the same.
Manage donors satisfactorily.

Other Personnel Specifications:
Age: not more than 40 years as of the time of recruitment, except where the job holder has more than 8 years’ working experience.
Experience in journalism would be a positive count for the prospective job holder.
