We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Lagos
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Execution and Growth:
Support the CEO in refining and executing the group's multi-specialty growth strategy.
Drive expansion into new markets and service lines across optical, dental, and general healthcare.
Ensure alignment of all business units with the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
Leverage market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and competitive positioning.
Operational Oversight:
Provide hands-on leadership for clinic and hospital operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high patient satisfaction.
Standardize operational protocols across entities to ensure consistency in service delivery.
Implement policies that promote safety, service excellence, and operational sustainability.
Oversee facilities, equipment, and procurement to meet evolving clinical demands.
Multi-Specialty Coordination:
Facilitate seamless integration of services across optical, dental, and hospital units.
Coordinate care delivery models that support patient referral between specialties.
Work with Clinical Directors to optimize workflows and enhance interdepartmental collaboration.
Financial and Business Performance:
Collaborate with the CFO/Finance Head to manage P&L, budgets, and forecasts.
Drive revenue generation, operational efficiencies, and margin improvements across the group.
Implement financial controls, billing oversight, and cost-saving initiatives across service lines.
Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management:
Champion quality assurance across all medical and administrative functions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements.
Develop and oversee internal audit, clinical governance, and risk mitigation frameworks.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence.
Technology and Innovation:
Drive digital transformation through the integration of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), telehealth, and patient management systems.
Supervise the IT function to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient technology solutions.
Promote innovation in care delivery through automation, AI-assisted diagnostics, and mobile health platforms.
Human Capital and Workforce Development:
Oversee HR strategy in partnership with the Head of HR, ensuring optimal workforce planning and talent development.
Promote a culture of performance, accountability, and employee engagement across all levels.
Lead succession planning and leadership development initiatives for critical roles.
Governance and Stakeholder Management:
Support the CEO in Board relations, governance reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Ensure timely execution of Board directives, policy changes, and strategic decisions.
Represent the organization in key regulatory, investor, and community engagements.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND / MBA in Medical Science or any health related field
Minimum of 10 years experience in healthcare management
A deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, is essential
Ability to quickly diagnose problems, anticipate potential issues and develop effective solutions.
Good leadership and communication skills
