Job Description
SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a QA/QC Electrical / Instrumentation Material Inspector to join its workforce in the Port Harcourt yard, Nigeria.
Responsbilities
Key responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Material Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspections of electrical & Instrumentation materials, equipment, and installations to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Verify the accuracy of dimensions, ratings, and material certifications.
Perform visual inspections, dimensional tests, and functional tests.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and project specifications.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and findings.
Prepare and document non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
Quality Control:
Monitor and control the quality of electrical & Instrumentation work throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in quality control audits and inspections.
Liaise with construction, maintenance, training teams, subcontractors, and engineers to address quality issues.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit inspection reports, documenting findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
Communicate quality issues and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Other Duties:
May assist with the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
May be involved in the training of other staff on quality control procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Instrumentation skills.
3+ years of experience in material quality control
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Skills:
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
Problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented approach.
Competencies:
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical & instrumentation materials, equipment, and installation practices.
Inspection Skills: Ability to perform thorough inspections and identify defects or non-conformances.
Documentation and Reporting: Ability to accurately document findings and prepare clear and concise reports.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including construction teams, subcontractors, and engineers.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
Experience in QA/QC for electrical & instrumentation projects.
