We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Protection from Violence Team Leader (Protection Case Management)
These strategic locations have allowed NRC greater reach from the north and south parts of the North-East and North Central region and allowed NRC to contribute to bridging the gap between humanitarian aid and development cooperation, including by focusing on equitable access to basic services and strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees. In addition to the Country Office and the above-mentioned Area Offices, NRC has sub-office structures in Dikwa, Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka, and Gwoza.

If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and Experienced Protection from Violence Team Leader Nigeria Mubi to join our team in Area South, Adamawa State.
Role and Responsibilities
Generic responsibilities:
Management of project staff.
Implement plan of action for delegated portfolio of Protection from Violence projects (activities, budget and project documentation).
Day to day follow of progress in project implementation.
Ensure compliance with NRC policies Protection from Violence tools, handbooks and guidelines.
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents.
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
Liaison and collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders.
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
Specific responsibilities:
Daily management and supervision of Protection from Violence case management staff.
Support protection case management staff through the provision of technical support and guidance, including approval of case plans and sign-off on cash and in-kind assistance. Ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards in protection case management.
Understand and follow up on activities and assess progress of implementation, provide solutions and report issues when needed.
Oversee awareness raising activities and support the development of messaging.
Oversee selection and management of implementing partners (community-based organisations and community committees).
Develop and maintain effective working relationships, including service as referral focal points, with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, community leaders and service providers, and maintain up-to-date service map and agreed referral protocols with partnering agencies.
Oversee case management (including follow up on referrals and action plans) and support services provided to case management clients.
Manage individual protection cases, including maintaining strict protocols for confidentiality and consent.
Update case files on individual developments, following NRC data management protocols and ensuring beneficiary data is protected.
Carry out protection from violence case management in line with NRC Protection Case Management guidelines and tools, including conducting intake and assessment, creating and implementing client-centred case plans, following-up on case plans in a timely manner.
Provide psycho-social support to case management clients, as needed.
Regularly monitor and evaluate the quality of activities & security and protection policies being implemented.

Competencies
Professional competencies:
Experience from working a Protection from violence project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
Knowledge of the context in Northeast Nigeria
Knowledge of the local language (Hausa and Fulani).
Experience with start-up, exit or similar.
Experience with protection case management (general protection case management preferred, GBV or CP case management acceptable).
Experience in conducting community outreach.
Previous training in psycho-social support.
Well-developed organizational skills.
Experience working with case management and IPA databases.
Good knowledge of data protection standards.
Experience in managing teams is a plus.
Understand rights and protection issues of target populations, experience working with IDPs, Refugee and Returnee populations is an advantage.
Proven communication, interpersonal, and representation skills.
Level of knowledge and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. required.
