New City University is a newly licensed private university in Nigeria, specifically located in Aiyetoro, Ogun State. The prestigious institution offers programmes in the following Faculties: Faculty of Basic Medical and Allied Sciences, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Faculty of Computing and Sciences, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, and Faculty of Law.

Job Title: Librarian

Location: Aiyetoro, Ogun

The Position

• The University Librarian is a Principal Officer and the academic and professional Head of the Library. He/She is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and management of the University Library.
• He/She is responsible for the formulation and execution of policy direction of the Library for the growth of its collections and services to support the teaching, research and public services mandates of the University. 
• He/She is therefore expected to be demonstrably versatile in the use and deployment of ICT to drive the services of the Library.

Qualification and Experience
The candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A good honours Degree in Library and Information Science and a Ph.D in Library and Information Science from accredited University.
• The candidate must be a Chartered Librarian of Nigeria (CLN) and a member of other information science related professional associations;
• Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience in tertiary institution's libraries, out of which three 3 years must have been at the position of Deputy Librarian.
• Evidence of continuing research and publication in reputable library and information science journals both in quality and quantum and spread must be provided;
• Given the pivotal role of ICT in the management of modern libraries, the candidate is expected to possess the skills and experience needed to drive an ICT driven library of world class standard;
• The candidate must possess the required managerial skills needed to lead the human resources made available as well as motivate staff to give their best;
• A high level of integrity and morality is required to meet the aspirations of a cutting edge vision driven University that New City University is.
• The candidate must not be more than 60 years old on the day of assumption of duty.

Condition of Service

• New City University offers conditions of service comparable with what obtains in similar private universities of its standing as well as those in Nigerian public university system and as may be determined by Council from time-to-time. 
• The University Librarian will hold the position for a single term of five years.
