Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a woman-led organization born out of passion for the well-being of Women and Children in Nigeria. It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis. Currently, the organization has focused its attention on the North East of Nigeria with special emphasis on Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states (the BAY states) due to the decade-old crises. COWACDI intervenes through a community-based approach in addressing Gender-Based Violence prevention and response programmes, child protection, peace-building programmes, and empowerment of youth and women. COWACDI operates with full respect for humanitarian law and works with concrete policies and principles of international standards such as humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence, and accountability to the affected population.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Peace Building Facilitator
Location: Borno
Objectives
The core of this assignment is to hire a skilled facilitator for peace building. Facilitator for Dialogue Session to foster open communication to create a safe and respectful environment for participants to share perspective sand engage in constructive dialogue.
Build Trust and understanding to encourage active listening, empathy, and mutual understanding among participants.
Promote Collaborative Problem-Solving and facilitate the identification of common goals and interests and support the development of joint solutions for conflict resolution. And equip participants with skills and knowledge to effectively engage in dialogue and collaboration.
Capacity Building for CSOs to enhance organizational capacity to Strengthen CSOs’ institutional capacity, including governance, management, and operations.
Improve Technical Skills to provide training and support to enhance CSOs’ technical skills, such as project management, advocacy, and community engagement.
Foster collaboration and networking among CSOs to promote knowledge sharing, resource mobilization, and coordinated efforts.
Promote sustainability and support CSOs in developing sustainable strategies, including resource mobilization, fundraising, and strategic planning.
Advocacy to Government to influence policy reforms or changes that benefit the target communities or population.
Raise awareness of the government on key issues, challenges, and concerns affecting the target communities.
Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders to promote dialogue and collaboration.
Amplify Communities to ensure that the voices and perspectives of the target communities are heard and represented in advocacy efforts.
Scope of Work
The facilitator will design a comprehensive facilitation plan and agenda for the dialogue session, CSOs capacity building and advocacy to government including interactive sessions, group discussions, topicsto cover for each session and presentations.
Prepare a training document, PowerPoint presentations for effective training of CSOs capacity building and apply the intended outcome of the training.
Deliver the training program for participants as per the plan scheduled in close consultation with COWACDI Program Staff. The training will be conducted in Bama LGA, Borno State. Work closely with the COWACDI project officer to develop a training plan with deliverable sandanagenda for each session, which the COWACDI Head of Program should approve.
Use appropriate methods and tools to make sure the trainees thoroughly undertake the training.
Prepare and submit a detailed report on the training program, along with photographs demonstrating the training’s progress.
Facilitator will conduct three (3) days dialogues session on three communal issues identified in the communities will be treated separately.
Facilitator will conduct three (3) days capacity building for CSOs focused on targeted interventions that directly address conflict drivers and violent extremism.
Facilitator will conduct one (1) day advocacy to Government Institutions regarding conflict issues resolutions and to take durable solution for the peaceful society.
The facilitator will provide a comprehensive report on each program session, including recommendations for future activities and program events.
Using participatory and interactive methods to ensure all participants have an opportunity to contribute to the discussion.
Keeping the discussion focused, respectful, and on track, while ensuring that all participants have an opportunity to be heard.
Prepare and submit a detailed activity report outcome/ lesson learn of the training program, along with photographs demonstrating the training’s progress report two days after the training. Submit three3different activity report for dialogue session, CSOs capacity building and advocacy to government institution.

Prepare and submit each activity report session conducted at the end of the training regarding the delivery of the training Programme.

Educational Qualification
Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree) in Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, International Economics, Law, Public Administration, or other related Social Sciences.
Experience:
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in multilateral or civil society organization.
Extensive experience in peace building dialogue session, CSOs capacity building and Advocacytogovernment.
Experience in national and community-level capacity-building initiatives and programming onpeacebuilding. Application
Skills:
Excellent written and spoken English, knowledge of local dialect is an added advantage i.e. (Kanuri, Mandara, Shuwa and Hausa).
Extent and relevance of experience in working in humanitarian context in the field of peace building.
Excellent computer skills, communication, writing and presentation skills
Proven experience as peace building mediator for dialogue session, CSOs capacity building and advocacy to government
Proven ability to facilitate dialogue and manage group dynamics for resolution.
Experience in capacity building and training.
Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Proficiency in MS Office
Aptitude in creative problem-solving
Certified peace building Mediator and resolution is a plus
Desirable Skills/Quality:
Excellent written and spoken English, knowledge of local dialect is an added advantage i.e. (Kanuri and Hausa). Extent and relevance of experience in working in humanitarian context in the field of peace building.
