Role Overview
A pharmaceutical Business Development Manager (BDM) typically focuses on identifying and securing new business opportunities, primarily by developing and implementing sales strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and fostering partnerships within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key responsibilities include identifying potential markets, conducting market research, generating leads, and developing business plans to achieve sales targets.
Essentially, you will play a critical role in driving growth for OmniRetail by identifying, pursuing, and managing new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research and Opportunity Identification: Identifying potential markets, growth areas, and new business opportunities through market analysis and research.
Lead Generation and Relationship Building: Generating leads, conducting cold calls, networking, and building strong relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
Sales Strategy and Execution: Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
Business Development Planning: Creating and executing strategic business development plans to support company growth objectives.
Client Communication and Negotiation: Presenting business proposals, negotiating agreements and contracts, and securing new business opportunities.
Industry Knowledge and Value Proposition: Maintaining a strong understanding of the company's products or services and articulating their value to potential clients.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, product development, finance) to support business growth.
Budget Management: Managing and allocating budgets effectively for business development activities.
Industry Event Participation: Attending industry events to network and build relationships.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field (MBA preferred).
7+ years of experience in operations, sales, or business development/management roles, in pharmaceutical or healthcare organizations.
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Key Competencies and Requirements:
Technical/Functional Expertise in Business Development (BD):
Experience in Business Development, Strategic Planning or corporate development in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
Demonstrated management and communication skills with high intellectual capability, agility and adaptability.
Good financial modeling and forecasting skills.
Understanding of deal structure; financial input to business cases.
Experience in healthcare partnering projects, from screening to signature, including managing and negotiating contracts agreements.
Teamwork capabilities / Interactions:
Focus on teamwork, collaboration, and driving results.
Experience/capacity to work within a cross-cultural/global team.
Provide effective feedback, ensuring that joint learning occurs.
Work collaboratively with a high degree of planning, coordination, and project management skills.

Salary
N500,000 - N550,000 monthly.
