Job Summary
Project Context and Scope: 

• The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Nigeria has a broad range of programming centered around key thematic areas such as migration governance, including immigration and border governance, labour mobility, migration health, protection, climate change and peacebuilding. 
• It does so by providing protection, empowerment, access to health and education, social cohesion, and life-saving humanitarian assistance to mobile populations, internally displaced persons, hosting communities, and vulnerable migrants, such as victims of trafficking and illicit smuggling of migrants, with a particular focus on women and children. 
• To contribute to above key objectives, IOM Nigeria through its Department of Media and Communication produces a wide range of print and audio-visual materials for a variety of audiences to enhance understanding about IOM’s work. The content is posted through IOM’s various social media and websites accounts including sharing with our various donors.
• Working under the direct supervision of the Media and Communication Officer the Videographer/ Photographer will be supporting the communication strategies and plans of IOM Nigeria under the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA) project. The consultant will be expected to deliver below deliverables within 40 days upon commencement of the program.

Responsibilities
Category B Consultants: Tasks to be performed under this contract:

• Collect Audio-Visual contents (5 videos) beneficiary of IOM MPRR-SSA activities and programmes in Lagos through conducting interviews with IOM beneficiaries 
• Edit and produce a total of 5 videos for beneficiaries and 5 photos each per beneficiary
• Repurpose the MPRR-SSA briefer into three short videos. (one in Pidgin with English subtitles, one in Hausa and one in sign language to enhance reach to the most vulnerable.
• Produce and submit high resolution photographs with full captions about the activities (25 photos in total)
• All subtitles of the final product to be in English using IOM editing template
• All materials gathered during the assignment including but not limited to photos, raw videos, edited videos will be submitted to IOM.

Performance Indicators for the Evaluation of Results
At the end of the consultancy period, the consultant will produce a final report demonstrating completeness of the following indicators:

• A script of the repurposed MPRR-SSA Pre departure counselling briefer 
• There videos based on the MPRR-SSA Pre-departure counselling briefer one video successfully translated 
  • One video to be in sign language
  • One video in pidgin with English subtitles
  • One video in Hausa
• 5 fully edited videos for MPRR-SSA beneficiaries
  • All raw footage for the videos to be submitted to IOM
• 25 fully edited MPRR-SSA beneficiary photos
  • 5 action-oriented photos per beneficiary with captions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, Film production or any other related field
• At least 3 years of experience working in media, communications, advocacy on migration-related topics in Nigeria. 
• At least three years of experience in videography/video editing, experience of editing using Premiere Pro and Final cut.
• Experience in conception, production and editing of mini video documentaries; (Detailed individual portfolio - web links to produced videos - showcasing range of work should be provided). 
• Experience covering & editing videos on social, humanitarian and development subjects Experience with IOM and /or other UN agencies and INGOs’ is an added advantage.
• Fluency in local languages including pidgin.
