3PL Transport Operations Manager at DRYVA Logistics

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: 3PL Transport Operations Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

• Lead 3PL transport supply across Nigeria, and rapidly build a wide trucker base across major regions in Nigeria.
• Enrol and secure dedicated trucks into the fleet for month-on-month shipment.
• Manage at least 200 dedicated trucks.
• Develop weekly / daily load plans across routes and modes
• Allocate volume to contracted 3PL carriers in line with SLAs
• Onboard new high ticket enterprise clients across Nigeria (Lagos/SWest, SEast, S-South & North)
• Source, negotiate, and onboard new hauliers
• Conduct quarterly carrier performance reviews
• Enforce safety, maintenance, and subcontracting standards
• Provide strong partner development and support to truckers to help them grow their business with DRYVA.
• Ensure adherence to road transport acts, vehicle licensing, ADR, HSE, and customs (for exports/imports)
• Lead Kaizen / Lean projects—route optimisation, backhauls, load consolidation
• Lead driver safety programs and audits
• Work jointly with Client Accounts / Order Processing Team to ensure allocation of vehicles/drivers based on the peculiarity of Client’s requests.
• Direct supervision of truck loadings to ensure accuracy in items, as well as conformance to loading patterns in order to prevent the likelihood of damage to materials or products during transit.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, collect all waybills and proof of delivery (PODs) from delivery sites across the country leveraging field officers.
• Ensure the products are delivered to customers in a timely manner
• Meet all client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Key clients’ needs and requirements
• Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
• Resolve any issues faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
• Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with Management Team.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

• Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc. Degree in Transport & Logistics Management or other related fields.
• Cognate 3-7 years’ work experience in logistics and transportation, with a proven network of truckers across Nigeria.
• Proven access to a network of truckers in strategic regions of the country.
• Experience with 3rd Party Logistics will be a strong advantage.
• Deep knowledge of route planning, fleet optimisation, and 3PL contracting
• Relevant professional certification in Transport in Nigeria. E.g. National Institute of Transport & Logistics is an added advantage.
• Strong practical knowledge of Nigeria fleet and transport legislation / compliance requirements for the transport industry.
• Extensive knowledge of route planning and Driver management.
• Experience in Truck types and models, costs, utilization and management peculiarities.
• Experience in Truck tracking and fleet maintenance systems.
• Proven capability to coach dispatchers, planners, and carrier partners in high-pressure environments
• Specialist knowledge in truck management.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Excellent mathematical and numerical skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
• Excellent relationship management.
