Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Summary
To lead and coordinate daily field and support operations across tank cleaning, inspection, and UWID operations, logistics, and back-office functions, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with local and international regulations.
The Operations Manager is accountable for achieving performance targets and operational integrity in alignment with company goals and client expectations.
Key Objectives:
Ensure all field and support operations are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget.
Drive process improvements across departments, including field service, logistics, QA/QC, and HSE.
Support business growth through reliable operational delivery and client satisfaction.
Build a strong organizational culture with a focus on performance, safety, and compliance.
Core Responsibilities
Field Operations Oversight:
Manage field activities related to robotic tank cleaning, robotic tank inspection, ROV services, calibrations, ice blasting, and other service delivery.
Supervise the execution of jobs, including equipment mobilization, personnel deployment, and project milestones.
Ensure job readiness through pre-job checks, equipment testing, logistics coordination, and HSE risk assessments.
Workforce and Team Management:
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams across operations, workshops, logistics, and administration.
Supervise recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews of operational staff.
Define career paths and succession plans for key field and support roles.
Operational Planning and Optimization:
Develop operational schedules, resource allocation plans, and project delivery strategies.
Monitor performance KPIs such as job turnaround time, NPT (non-productive time), equipment utilization, and tool reliability.
Implement lean and Six Sigma practices to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce operational waste.
Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination:
Oversee base operations, equipment movement, inventory, and warehouse management.
Coordinate material planning, vendor interaction, procurement schedules, and fleet utilization.
Monitor spare parts availability, equipment downtime, and turnaround scheduling.
Financial Control and Budgeting:
Develop and control operational budgets, including job costing, asset maintenance, and contractor services.
Monitor actual vs forecasted cost performance and report variances to upper management.
Review vendor pricing, service contracts, and procurement agreements to ensure cost efficiency.
Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations (ISO, API, IADC, OSHA, local laws).
Champion safety culture through toolbox talks, HSE campaigns, and incident investigations.
Coordinate permit-to-work systems, safety audits, risk assessments, and training drills.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with client operations and project teams to align expectations and execution plans.
Attend pre-job meetings, technical clarification sessions, and site inspections with clients.
Resolve client concerns, operational issues, or service non-conformities with urgency and professionalism.
Quality and Reporting:
Ensure QA/QC protocols are followed across equipment prep, inspection, and service delivery.
Approve operational reports, daily field summaries, inventory logs, and incident logs.
Maintain updated dashboards on operational metrics for leadership and client reporting.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
MBA or PMP certification is an added advantage
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in oilfield services or upstream operations, including tank cleaning, inspection, and calibrations.
Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role with multi-site responsibility
Strong background in tank cleaning, particularly automated or robotic, is an advantage.

Knowledge of tank cleaning, inspection, blasting, and calibration operations
Proficient in ERP tools (SAP, Oracle) and digital field operations platforms
Understanding of oil and gas compliance standards and industry best practices
Strong command of inventory control, asset tracking, and logistics planning
HSE front-line and barrier management skills
Tools & Systems Used:
ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Project management tools (Primavera, MS Project).
BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Work Environment:
Office-based with regular field visits to remote sites, bases, or client facilities
Must be available for 24/7 operational escalation or emergency response when needed
Exposure to high-risk environments with strict adherence to HSE standards.
Remuneration
N1,200,000 - N1,500,000 Monthly.
