Job Title: Security Personnel
Location: Awka, Anambra
Reports to: Chief Security Officer
Main Function
The Security Personnel at Stanel Group is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the company’s premises, employees, and assets.
The role entails monitoring and managing access control, surveillance, and responding to emergencies. Security Personnel will be expected to act swiftly in crisis situations, maintain safety standards, and contribute to the overall security strategy for the company.
Role Responsibilities
Access Control & Surveillance:
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify any potential security threats or breaches.
Oversee and manage all access points to ensure only authorized personnel and visitors are granted access to Stanel Group facilities.
Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV, alarm systems) to detect unauthorized or suspicious activity.
Keep detailed logs of personnel movements, incidents, and security breaches for reporting and future audits.
Incident Response & Emergency Management:
Respond promptly to emergencies, such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches, and take appropriate action following established protocols.
Maintain and execute evacuation plans and drills to ensure all staff are aware of procedures during emergencies.
Collaborate with local authorities (police, fire department) during emergency situations to ensure a quick and effective resolution.
Ensure that security breaches are managed in a calm, controlled, and professional manner, minimizing disruption to operations.
Risk Assessment & Reporting:
Regularly assess the security risks and identify any vulnerabilities within the premises.
Report any security risks, incidents, or malfunctions of security equipment to the Chief Security Officer for further investigation.
Maintain accurate daily reports of security activities, incidents, and any concerns for the Chief Security Officer’s review.
Assist in conducting security audits and suggesting improvements to strengthen security measures.
Customer & Staff Interaction:
Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner while enforcing security protocols.
Guide visitors to appropriate areas of the building and provide support when required.
Offer assistance to employees on safety procedures and policies to promote a secure workplace environment.
Operational Support:
Ensure all security equipment is maintained in good working condition, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the Chief Security Officer.
Assist in the development of security schedules and shift patterns to ensure adequate coverage during all hours.
Help with organizing and conducting training and drills to keep the staff informed about security procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications:
Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent qualification.
Certification in security management, law enforcement, or safety protocols is highly desirable.
Additional training in First Aid, fire safety, or emergency response is an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working in a security role, preferably in a corporate or facility management environment.
Experience with security equipment (CCTV, access control systems) and handling emergency situations is preferred.
Previous experience working in a high-traffic or high-risk environment is an added advantage.
Skills:
Technical Skills
Proficient in operating security systems (CCTV, alarm systems, radios).
Ability to assess risks and use security software effectively.
Communication Skills
Strong verbal communication for client and visitor interaction, and incident reporting.
Ability to document incidents accurately in security logs and reports.
Problem-Solving & Decision Making:
Ability to quickly assess situations and make decisions during high-pressure incidents.
Strong conflict resolution and emergency response capabilities.
Attention to Detail:
Keen observation skills to detect security vulnerabilities and suspicious behaviours.
Physical Fitness:
Physically fit to patrol premises, stand for extended periods, and respond rapidly in emergencies.
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to remain calm and professional when interacting with visitors, staff, and external parties.
Ability to work well as part of a team or independently.
