Job Title: Accountant

The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with both traditional financial regulations and crypto-specific reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clerk Activation: To activate and deactivate account clerks' accounts on the website before and after their shifts. This is important to enable us to manage access and accountability. Ensure that only one account clerk is active at a time, and they are using their individual Dantown admin accounts while carrying out operations.
Company-Based Reconciliation: Conducts shift-based reconciliation on all company-based activities and ensures proper reporting.
Service Provider Management: To monitor activities of all company service providers (for our operations and also business units) and ensure accuracy in funding, settlements, and reconciliation of their transactions.
Bank transfer request: You are to approve the operations bank credit request from the account clerk. i.e, when the account clerk needs money from the company account for payment of customers, they are to initiate a request, and you will approve. Note that there will be limits for such requests and approval.
Financial Operations: You will oversee all daily financial operations and approve payment requests after liaising with the Accounts Manager or the CEO.
Approval of payments on the website(manual credits), such as refunds to users, giveaways, and other related payments. You must ensure that they are done after a proper investigation and justification.
You are to oversee the activities of the account clerks and ensure that tasks are done accurately according to guidelines.
Reports: You are to review and report on all daily transactions on a shift basis. Also, other necessary weekly and monthly transactions reports as directed by your supervisor.
The Accountant ensures that all company source documents are collected and documented accordingly.
Reconciliation Review: The Accountant reviews the reconciliation of Account Clerks to ensure that everything checks out. In cases of discrepancies, the Accountant must conduct an investigation and take appropriate actions to resolve the discrepancy and also report on the activity."
The Accountant ensures the Cash book and all schedules are properly maintained.
The Accountant provides outside auditors with assistance; supports with gathering necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification is an advantage.
2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in fintech or crypto-related companies.
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, wallets, and exchanges.
Proficiency in accounting software
Strong Excel and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and integrity.
Willing to work on a shift basis andon public holidays
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
