Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Finance Manager to lead and elevate our financial operations as we scale.
This individual will be responsible for managing the company’s full financial function, including budgeting, forecasting, closing the books, maintaining financial integrity, and ensuring the business always has clear, real-time financial visibility.
The ideal candidate is an analytical and strategic thinker who can both see the big picture and dive deep into the numbers, driving decisions that enhance performance and sustainability.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on all financial matters, ensuring alignment of financial strategy with business priorities.
Maintain up-to-date understanding of the company’s financial health and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
Develop and execute long-term financial plans, scenario models, and capital allocation strategies that support mDoc’s mission and growth trajectory.
Financial Management & Oversight:
Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Own the creation and continuous refinement of detailed financial models to support operational planning, fundraising, and investment decisions.
Monitor and analyze the company’s cash position, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and strategic investments.
Lead the design and implementation of company-wide financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:
Lead the budgeting process across all departments and maintain rolling forecasts.
Provide financial performance updates through dashboards and tailored reports to leadership and board members.
Deliver timely and compliant financial reports to donors, investors, and regulatory bodies, including management of grant audits.
Team Leadership & Development:
Mentor, coach, and build the capacity of junior finance staff, fostering accountability, accuracy, and ownership.
Lead a high-performing finance team that collaborates effectively with clinical, operations, engineering, and other functional teams to support shared business goals.
Operational Finance & Risk Management:
Develop and manage pricing strategies, revenue models, and cost-saving initiatives in partnership with the business operations team.
Maintain accurate inventory controls in collaboration with operations and oversee procurement financial processes.
Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum 7+ years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in health tech, digital health, or donor-funded enterprises.
Deep expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting with exceptional Excel and financial software skills (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or equivalents).
Proven experience managing financial reporting, audits, and compliance across multiple stakeholders.
Strong leadership and people development skills, with experience managing and scaling finance teams.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in organizations operating across multiple geographies and/or with external funding (e.g., grants, philanthropic capital).
Familiarity with financial technology tools such as Zoho People, Zoho Recruit, and other cloud-based accounting systems.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, regulatory reporting requirements, and donor compliance frameworks.
