UPDC Hotels Limited (Festival Hotel Conference Centre & Spa) is a 4 star first class hotel with 471 rooms made up of classic, deluxe rooms and suites. The hotel is located in expansive ground in a fantastic location with a serene atmosphere as well as a safe and secure environment. It offers facilities such as adult and children swimming pool, exotic tropicalised garden, conferencing and private function facilities, modern and well equipped table tennis and twin state of art squash court, well equipped state of art gym, jogging tracks, sauna and steam bath facilities. It has an expansive car park,excellent food and bevrage facilities with 2 restaurants offering local and international cuisine, in housing laundry and dry cleaning facilities, exotic art stands and an in house clinic. It also has gifts shops,a shopping mall and a cinema in the premises.
Responsibilities
Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Systems:
Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting systems, and power distribution panels in guest rooms, conference areas, kitchens, and other hotel facilities.
Ensure all electrical systems are in optimal working condition and comply with safety standards.
Routine Inspection and Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct regular checks on electrical equipment and systems to identify potential issues.
Perform preventive maintenance on generators, elevators, transformers, and emergency lighting systems.
Maintain logbooks and records of maintenance activities.
Repairs and Troubleshooting:
Diagnose electrical faults or failures using appropriate testing equipment.
Repair or replace faulty wiring, switches, outlets, fuses, breakers, lighting fixtures, and other components.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests or breakdowns in guest rooms or public areas.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all work complies with hotel policies, local building codes, health and safety regulations, and fire prevention protocols.
Implement lockout/tagout procedures and maintain safety around high-voltage equipment.
Work collaboratively with the safety team to conduct fire drills and emergency equipment checks.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Support:
Monitor energy usage and suggest ways to improve energy efficiency.
Install energy-saving devices (e.g., LED lights, motion sensors) where applicable.
Support the hotel’s sustainability initiatives by ensuring electrical systems run efficiently and without waste.
Guest Support and Service:
Assist with guest room maintenance requests related to power outages, faulty lighting, non-functional sockets, etc.
Provide prompt and professional service to ensure guest satisfaction and minimize disruption.
Event and Conference Setup:
Support electrical setup for conferences, weddings, and events including lighting, AV power support, and temporary installations.
Coordinate with the events and banquet team to ensure seamless technical support.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
Maintain inventory of electrical tools, spares, and materials.
Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition and stored properly.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with the engineering, housekeeping, kitchen, and IT departments to resolve electrical issues.
Participate in cross-functional training or emergency response teams when needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
Report hazards, major faults, or the need for significant repairs to the Engineering Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
