Job Title: Builder
Location: Lekki, Lagos

Key Responsibilities
Construction and Assembly:
Accurately interpret and implement building plans, blueprints, and technical specifications to construct safe and reliable structures.
Construct, install, and repair various structures and fixtures utilizing a range of materials, including wood, plywood, wallboard, and other relevant substances.
Execute essential tasks such as framing, insulation installation, drywall application, as well as flooring and roofing installation to ensure robust and durable construction.
Site Management:
Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, and other construction professionals to facilitate smooth project execution and adherence to established timelines.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to maintain a secure work environment.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the construction site, actively engaging in preventive measures against workplace hazards.
Quality Control:
Conduct comprehensive inspections of completed work to ensure that all quality standards and project specifications are satisfactorily met.
Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for potential improvements or necessary adjustments aimed at enhancing overall project quality.
Problem Solving:
Proactively identify challenges or obstacles that arise during the construction process and develop innovative solutions to overcome them.
Maintain a flexible approach to ensure that project timelines and budgetary constraints are consistently met.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate cohesively with other tradespeople and contractors, coordinating various tasks to ensure an efficient workflow throughout the project.
Mentor and assist in training junior builders or apprentices, fostering a culture of growth and safety within the team.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Technology or a related field.
Demonstrated experience as a builder or in a similar role within the construction industry. Comprehensive knowledge of tools, materials, and current best practices employed in construction.
Required physical stamina and dexterity to perform demanding tasks and operate under varying weather conditions.
Proficient in reading, interpreting, and accurately executing blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate seamlessly within a team environment.
Experience with specialized construction techniques or advanced materials is advantageous.
Experience in construction, including reading and interpreting blueprints
Skills in carpentry, masonry, and other building techniques
Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
Ability to manage resources and materials efficiently
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks
Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction trade(s) are a plus.
