Job Description
We are seeking to employ a Senior Finance Analyst, who will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions, with a strong focus on cost accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, inventory control, treasury operations, and compliance.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Provide strategic financial insights to guide operational and investment decisions. Prepare detailed variance analysis and financial performance reports for management.
Cost Accounting: Implement and maintain standard costing systems and BOM (Bill of Materials). Monitor cost of production and analyze cost variances. Drive cost optimization initiatives across the business.
Inventory & Working Capital Management: Ensure proper accounting, valuation, and control of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Partner with operations to manage stock levels, reduce wastage, and improve inventory turnover. Monitor and report working capital performance metrics.
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (NGAAP/IFRS) and internal financial policies. Coordinate statutory audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
Taxation: Ensure accurate and timely computation, filing, and payment of taxes (VAT, WHT, CIT, etc.). Manage tax audits and provide necessary documentation and reconciliations. Identify tax-saving opportunities while maintaining compliance
Financial Modelling & Business Case Development: Build and maintain financial models for investment and operational decisions. Support new projects, capex proposals, and strategic initiatives with robust financial analysis.
Treasury & Cash Management: Manage banking relationships and daily cash flow operations. Forecast liquidity needs and optimize financing structures. Monitor foreign exchange exposure and assist in FX-related transactions.
Cost Optimization: Drive cost-efficiency initiatives across operations including contract negotiations, and third-party partnerships. Implement strategies to reduce waste, theft, and unplanned expenditures.
Operational Excellence: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure performance across operational areas. Implement continuous improvement initiatives leveraging data and technology. Champion innovation and best practices manufacturing practices.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (1st or 2:1 class) in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or professional certification preferred).
ICAN, ACCA, or CPA qualification is mandatory.
You have at least five to eight years of work experience
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial company.
Proven experience in management accounting, financial management, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage.
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
