VisionSpring, an international social enterprise, seeks a Procurement Lead who will have an important role in the In-Country planning, organizing, and carrying out day-to-day Supply Chain Operations and large-scale projects for Procurement, Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution.
This person will be responsible for building a working relationship with our Warehouses and Sales Management Teams and will review and coordinate all Sales, POD, and Inventory Data into the VisionSpring SAP ERP system.
The person will have a detailed awareness of stock on hand and actively monitor what is being used and support Global Supply Chain Management in managing stock and stock replenishments in a timely manner.
This is a full-time, contract-based role for a duration of two years, and it requires the successful candidate to be based in Lagos, Nigeria.
The position reports to to the Global Supply Chain coordinator. The position is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities related to procurement, ensuring efficient and seamless processes across the organization.

You connect with people across the organization to gain insights into every operations function, from manufacturing to last-mile delivery, from sales to finance.
You thoroughly understand sourcing and find fun in designing and implementing best-in-class, environment-friendly procurement processes.
You identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations. This may involve implementing new technologies, tools, or systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Sourcing and Procurement:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify reliable suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
Strategy Development: Create and implement sourcing strategies that identify reliable suppliers, ensuring cost-efficiency, high quality, and timely delivery.
Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors, overseeing performance evaluations, audits, and issue resolution.
Procurement Oversight: Manage the complete end-to-end procurement process, enforcing compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Cost Analysis: Conduct in-depth cost analyses, spot opportunities for savings, and propose strategies to reduce expenses.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, ensuring strict contract compliance as well as managing renewals and terminations.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, HR, Administration, and Operations to ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational goals.
Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process optimizations and best practices to drive continuous improvement within the procurement function.
Supply Chain Management:
Order Processing: Oversee sales order creation, invoicing, and ensure timely delivery.
Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with logistics and warehousing teams to manage inventory effectively and ensure smooth distribution.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and analyze supply chain performance, pinpointing areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
Customer Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Documentation Management: Develop and maintain essential supply chain documentation, including contracts, agreements, and compliance records.
Systems Implementation:
SAP ERP Proficiency: Cultivate a high level of expertise in the SAP ERP system through comprehensive training and continuous learning, ensuring the team maximizes operational efficiency.
Data Accuracy Assurance: Maintain rigorous data entry standards by implementing systematic monitoring, regular audits, and validation procedures to guarantee accurate and reliable information.
Business Center Reporting: Develop and generate detailed, actionable reports for the business centre, enabling data-driven decision-making and enhanced operational oversight.
Performance Metrics:
Cost Savings: Achieve targeted cost savings through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing.
Supplier Performance: Maintain high supplier performance ratings through regular evaluations and audits.
Procurement Cycle Time: Reduce procurement cycle times to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Order Accuracy: Ensure high accuracy in order processing and invoicing to minimize errors and discrepancies.
Inventory Turnover: Optimize inventory turnover rates to maintain efficient stock levels and reduce holding costs.
Customer Satisfaction: Achieve high customer satisfaction ratings through efficient order fulfillment and proactive issue resolution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, with 3–5 years of experience in managing and improving supply chain data, information flows, and operational processes.
Professional communication skills are essential when conversing and negotiating with vendors.
Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenges and needs to be addressed.
Top-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes
Ability to research companies and determine the best vendors/service providers to reach out to for various projects.
Previous experience with Supply Chain Management is essential.
Experience of working in and maintaining databases using SAP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and others relevant to company processes
Supply Chain Management certification is strongly preferred, with a minimum graduate Degrees.
