Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Roles
General Roles:

• Coordinate all Projects contract responsibilities.
• Manage all Quantity Surveyors under your purview.

Commercial Roles:

• Understand and interpret the respective obligations, responsibilities, and liabilities of the parties to the contract, and provides advice/guidance to the team, as appropriate.
• Identify what documents comprise the contract and be fully briefed on the contract estimates and timelines.
• Provide a detailed list of clarifications for commercial, scope, and technical departures/clarifications for review with clients.

Tendering and Bid Documentation Roles:

• Lead Bid documentation, pricing, submission, and negotiation
• Generate a checklist of Prequalification Technical documents.
• Develop responsibility matrix for the tender process and guide other team members.
• Fill out the Tender documents.
• Attend Tender Opening Ceremonies
• Generate RFQs for third party work items, dispatch, follow up and receive same for pricing purposes.
• Advise on Contractual methods and tendering Procedures.
• Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.

Bills of Quantities, Budgets and Resource Schedules Preparation:

• Develop and manage strategies to measure and prepare BOQ for every project in line with approved designs for each project and get management approval.
• Develop rates schedule for pricing all works.
• Prepare preliminary cost plans to enable design team produce practical designs.
• Monitor and advise cost implications of design options.
• Develop and maintain a dashboard of contacted subcontractors for negotiation and engagement during project execution.
• Preparation of execution Budgets for all projects.
• Preparation of Resource Schedules for all projects.
• Develop cashflow forecasts for the project.

Contract Administration Roles:

• Review and recommend the engagement of vendors and subcontractors for work packages, raise contracts, manage correspondences and commercial relationships, manage schedule of payments and certificates falling due and secure payments as at when due.
• Prepare Periodic Progress valuations based on agreed milestones for payments to contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Develop and manage strategies to avoid project cost overruns (Measurement based on budget and actual project cost).
• Develop, update, and manage project implementation dashboard for monitoring valuations, variation and fluctuation claims, penalties, and final account settlement.
• Develop and maintain expense analysis and expenditure profiles for projects.
• Monitor time and cost performances against output achieved on each work component and prepare weekly Cost Performance Reports.
• Reconcile accounts, prepare financial reports, process payment invoices and follow up with clients for payments.
• Prepare and submit periodic progress reports.
• Evaluate and prepare cost advise to the client on change management items.
• Measure all variations (if any) and provisional sum and give periodic reports on their financial implications to the client.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor's Degree with 5-15 years work experience.
