Job Title: General Manager - Concrete Waterproofing Business

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the concrete waterproofing business, ensuring operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
• This role combines strategic planning, leadership, and technical expertise to lead teams, manage resources, and ensure project success.
• The General Manager plays a key role in driving the company’s vision and profitability while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
• This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on management experience in the concrete waterproofing or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute business strategies to achieve company goals and expand market share.
• Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships.
• Monitor industry trends and ensure the business stays competitive and innovative.

Operational Management:

• Oversee day-to-day operations, including project scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control measures.
• Establish and maintain operational policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Team Management:

• Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team, including project managers, sales professionals, and technicians.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentorship.

Financial Oversight:

• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Optimize costs while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.

Client Relations:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Handle client inquiries, negotiate contracts, and ensure projects meet client expectations.
• Proactively address and resolve client concerns or issues.

Technical Oversight:

• Provide expertise on concrete waterproofing products, systems, and techniques.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure the successful application of waterproofing solutions.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies or methods to enhance service delivery.

Experience and Qualifications Required
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction, waterproofing, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing operations, budgets, and teams in a construction or industrial environment.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of concrete waterproofing products, methods, and industry standards.
• Understanding of construction project management and engineering principles.

Leadership Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to inspire and drive teams toward achieving organizational goals.

Business Acumen:

• Experience in developing and executing business strategies.
• Strong negotiation, financial management, and decision-making skills.

Communication:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and employees.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certifications.
• Relevant certifications in concrete waterproofing or construction safety.

Other:

• Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the construction industry.
• Ability to travel to job sites and client meetings as required.
