Job Overview
We are seeking a People & Culture Specialist with strong expertise in Compensation and Benefits to join our People Operations team. At Lily Hospitals, we see People & Culture not as a back-office function, but as a strategic pillar in building a performance-driven, values-aligned workforce.
This role is for someone who doesn’t just process payroll—they own it.
Someone with mastery of payroll systems, statutory compliance, and workforce cost optimization.
Someone who understands that how we pay, reward, and retain people is a reflection of our values and strategy.
This is not a role where you'll be micromanaged—you'll be trusted to lead, deliver, and continually improve.
Core Responsibilities
Payroll & Remuneration:
Independently manage end-to-end payroll processing with 100% accuracy and confidentiality.
Ensure compliance with statutory deductions (PAYE, NHF, NSITF, Pension, etc.) and timely remittances.
Collaborate with Finance for reconciliations, budget planning, and audit support.
Compensation Structure & Review:
Maintain and refine compensation structures across cadres in line with market trends and internal equity.
Support job evaluation and salary benchmarking exercises to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
Develop pay parity and reward policies that reflect performance and retention goals.
Benefits & Staff Welfare:
Administer health insurance, leave policies, Lily Years Allowance, and other employee benefits.
Regularly evaluate the effectiveness and competitiveness of current benefit offerings.
Handle employee enquiries regarding compensation, deductions, and benefits.
HRIS & Data Management:
Manage staff data and compensation history via the HRIS platform with diligence and consistency.
Generate payroll-related reports and analytics to support decision-making.
Ensure system controls and employee records are always audit-ready.
Employee Communication & Culture:
Clearly communicate compensation and benefit structures to employees.
Contribute to a culture of transparency, excellence, and fairness through policies and communication.
Ideal Profile
Education & Certifications:
Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Membership of CIPM or an equivalent professional body is a strong advantage.
Certifications in payroll or comp & ben (e.g., SHRM-CP, CBP) are a plus.
Experience & Expertise:
Minimum of 4–6 years progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in payroll, compensation/benefits management.
Strong proficiency in payroll systems and Excel.
Solid understanding of Nigerian labour law, tax codes, and compensation legislation.
Ability to work independently with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
