Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with expertise in oil and gas procurement to join our team and support our projects by ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
Key Deliverables
The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
This role requires strong analytical skills, strategic procurement planning, and a deep understanding of oil and gas supply chain processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and payments.
Identify and source materials, equipment, and services for oil and gas projects.
Ensure procurement processes align with project specifications, budgets, and schedules.
Collaborate with department heads (Store Officers, Operations, HR, etc.) to determine procurement needs and develop procurement strategies that optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Forecast future demand for goods and services to ensure smooth operations.
Identify, evaluate, pre-qualify and maintain strong relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost savings and ensure quality standards.
Negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing, terms, and quality.
Monitor supplier performance to ensure optimal business operations.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with health, safety, environment and other relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
Track key procurement metrics and KPIs to improve cost-efficiency.
Analyse procurement data, conduct spend analysis, and prepare reports (e.g., PO Summary, Purchase Details).
Incorporate new procurement software, e-procurement processes, and automation to enhance workflow.
Work with logistics teams to coordinate the timely delivery of procured items.
Monitor inventory levels and manage supply chain risks to avoid project delays.
Prepare procurement reports and provide insights on budget performance, monitor procurement expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Assess procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies and resolve supplier and delivery issues to maintain seamless project execution.
Lead and supervise the procurement team, including Procurement Officers, delegate tasks effectively and monitor workflow for efficiency.
Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and risk management strategies.
Competencies (Skills, Experience, and Knowledge)
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
Strong knowledge of procurement standards, supplier networks, local markets and industry regulations.
Proficiency in procurement software and digital tools (e.g., E-POS, Procurement Ledger).
Excellent negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis skills analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership, communication and team management capabilities.
Good knowledge of procurement laws and compliance regulations.
Experience with ERP procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple procurement tasks efficiently.
