Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage their financial operations, ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax regulations and financial best practices.
This role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, tax filings, and general accounting functions while working closely with senior management to optimize financial performance.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, be a chartered accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent), and possess deep knowledge of Nigeria’s tax system, FIRS, LIRS, and local government financial regulations.
Candidates must be based in Lagos and available for both on-site/remote work at our office.
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to ensure financial stability.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
Prepare and present financial reports to management, offering insights into financial performance.
Taxation & Compliance:
Manage tax filings (FIRS, LIRS, local government taxes, and levies) and ensure timely remittances.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and financial regulations, ensuring compliance.
Work with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audits and regulatory inspections.
Handle PAYE, VAT, and other statutory deductions, ensuring proper documentation and filings.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
Liaise with vendors, clients, and financial institutions to reconcile accounts.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial transactions for audit purposes.
Payroll & Expense Management:
Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate salary payments and deductions.
Track operational expenses and manage financial disbursements efficiently.
Ensure financial records are up to date and reconcile discrepancies in financial data.
Key Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (minimum 2:1 grade).
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
Certification: Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial reporting, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
Tax & Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FIRS, LIRS, and local government tax regulations.
Analytical & Organizational Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work with management, auditors, and external stakeholders.
Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 Monthly.
