Job Title: Accountant

Location: Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of Role

• This role is to perform and coordinate accounting duties in SAO Capital Limited.
• The Company requires an experienced accountant with minimum 5 ears of track record backed with relevant professional certifications.
• Your key role will be to ensure the accuracy of the organization's financial records amongst other activities.

Primary Responsibilities of Role

• Ensure accuracy of the organization's financial records and compliance with best practice financial management principles and regulatory requirements.
• Payroll Management
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of periodic management reports at the organization to aid management decision-making.
• Ensure ongoing review, update, and documentation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial forecasts, and ratio analysis.
• Oversee the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with the company's accounting policies and FIRS.
• Compute taxes and prepare returns, manage balance sheet and profit/loss statements. Report on the company's financial health and liquidity.
• Ensure that the company's policies with respect to accounting for fixed assets are adhered to at all times.
• Manage and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders including local and international tax authorities, tax consultants, etc.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable for completed and ongoing projects.

Competence Requirements
Professional/Academic Qualifications:

• Relevant professional certification for Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or its equivalent is required
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, (Accounting, Banking and finance.)

Experience/Knowledge:

• Knowledge of applicable accounting software
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or banking and finance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Interpersonal Skills:

• Results-orientated and pragmatic with exceptional quantitative and analytical ability andattention to detail
• Independent thinker and worker who can juggle multiple projects simultaneously with fast- changing priorities
• Flexibility to roll up your sleeves and attack problems and projects as they arise, where you will need to set out a clear structure, method and outcomes yourself
• Tech-savvy who embraces new software and online tools and is personally interested in tech-enabled solutions
• Comfortable and effective in managing and communicating with team members andstakeholders based remotely or travelling in different time zones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
