ZOA has been working in Borno State in Nigeria since 2016 especially in 10 LGAs in Borno State and 3 LGAs in Yobe State. We reach out to the internally displaced persons and vulnerable host communities with emergency humanitarian & early recovery assistance to meet their needs. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Livestock Project Assistant
Location: Bama, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Starting Date: As soon as possible Duration position:Fix Term - One Year (Renewable position based on the need) Workhours:Fulltime.
Key Responsibilities
Field Implementation:
Assist in organizing and conducting livestock activities such as vaccination, deworming, and treatment campaigns.
Support the distribution of livestock inputs (e.g., feed, medication, livestock kits).
Help deliver training and sensitization sessions to community members on animal husbandry, livestock care, and biosecurity.
Work with local veterinary authorities and community animal health workers to provide extension support.
Community Engagement:
Mobilize target communities and livestock keepers for project activities.
Maintain good relationships with local leaders, livestock owners, and partners.
Help identify and register beneficiaries following project targeting criteria.
Monitoring & Reporting:
Collect field-level data and report on livestock health conditions, project progress, and challenges.
Keep accurate records of all livestock services and distributions.
Assist in preparing weekly or monthly activity reports.
Coordination & Support:
Collaborate closely with Livestock Officers, Agricultural teams, and M&E staff.
Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to planning sessions.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure smooth project delivery
Requirements
National Diploma (ND) or Certificate in Animal Health, Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Livestock Production, or related fields.
