Safety and Security Assistant at ZOA International

natural disasters by helping them to realize dignified and resilient lives. The work of ZOA is coordinated from the Netherlands. We are active in multiple countries in Africa, South America, the Middle East Region, and Asia. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Safety and Security Assistant

Location: Bama, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Duration position: Fix Term - One Year (Renewable position based on the need)
Workhours: Full-time

ZOA’s Programme in Nigeria

• ZOA has been working in Borno State in Nigeria since 2016 especially in 10 LGAs in Borno State and 3 LGAs in Yobe State.
• We reach out to the internally displaced persons and vulnerable host communities with emergency humanitarian & early recovery assistance to meet their needs.
• ZOA Nigeria focuses on Food Security & Livelihoods, WaSH, Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting regular safety and security risk assessments across project sites and facilities.
• Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Monitor access control systems, visitor logs, and security equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to protocols.
• Coordinate with security personnel and local authorities to address security incidents or concerns promptly.
• Conduct safety and security briefings and training sessions for staff and visitors.
• Assist in incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up investigations.
• Support the management of security-related logistics, including communication devices, security equipment, and transportation arrangements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local security dynamics and provide timely security updates to relevant teams.
• Promote a culture of safety and security awareness throughout the organization.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with organizational and donor security requirements and standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma; a Degree or certification in security management, safety, or related fields is an advantage.

• Frequent travel to in field locations within the programme area, and to other ZOA programme
