The Community Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of the YAPPI program at the community level.
This individual will be responsible for driving student enrollment, ensuring engagement and participation, and supporting learners through program completion, both during the online and onsite phases.
The Community Manager also ensures smooth operations across campuses, manages learning clusters, addresses students’ challenges, and creates an inclusive and supportive environment.
This is a high-performance role that requires passion for youth development, organizational excellence, a deep understanding of the creative industry, and strong community-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
Student Enrollment and Outreach:
Implement grassroots and digital strategies to increase student registration and enrollment.
Collaborate with local stakeholders, youth organizations, schools, and influencers to promote the program.
Track and report weekly enrollment metrics by gender, location, and PWD inclusion.
Student Engagement & Completion:
Monitor and support students throughout the online and onsite phases.
Identify at-risk students and implement intervention plans to ensure program retention.
Facilitate the formation of peer learning clusters and group mentoring.
Organize regular community check-ins, Q&A sessions, and motivation drives.
Encourage the use of campus resources to overcome challenges like data costs or electricity issues.
Onsite Campus Management:
Ensure the on-site campus is safe, functional, and conducive to learning.
Oversee daily student attendance and participation during the on-site phase.
Coordinate closely with instructors and technical teams to ensure smooth class delivery.
Resolve onsite student concerns promptly and escalate where necessary.
Learning Support & Program Understanding:
Guide students through onboarding to the Learning Management System (LMS).
Conduct a group walk-through of course modules and ensure students understand program objectives.
Schedule support sessions to address academic or technical challenges.
Reporting & Data Collection:
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, completion, and feedback.
Provide weekly reports on student progress, engagement, and community needs.
Participate in internal evaluations, audits, and reconciliation exercises.
Support the M&E team in data gathering, surveys, and impact assessments.
Events & Mentorship Coordination:
Assist with the planning and execution of local mentorship sessions, career events, and special training.
Support logistics and student mobilization for events like YAPPI Fusion, Inclusion Day, etc.
Collect post-event feedback from students and facilitators.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Education, Communications, Project Management, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in community engagement, youth programs, education, or nonprofit work.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with youth audiences.
Proven ability to coordinate activities and manage groups effectively.
Experience working in fast-paced, impact-driven environments
Familiarity with animation or post-production (basic knowledge preferred but not mandatory).
Ability to use digital tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, LMS platforms, and Trello or similar.
