Job Title: Production Superintendent - Plastics Manufacturing

Location: Onitsha, Anambra

Reports To: Production Manager

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Production Superintendent with a strong background in plastics manufacturing, particularly in blow molding, injection molding, and mold operations.
• The successful candidate will oversee daily production operations, ensure optimal machine efficiency, lead a team of technicians and operators, and uphold quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of daily production activities across blow molding and injection molding departments.
• Ensure production targets are met in terms of volume, quality, and schedule.
• Troubleshoot process and machine issues related to blow molders, injection machines, and molds.
• Monitor and optimize machine parameters to improve efficiency and reduce scrap rates.
• Implement and enforce safety, quality control, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Collaborate with maintenance and tooling departments for machine upkeep and mold changes.
• Train, coach, and evaluate production staff to ensure high performance and skill development.
• Maintain accurate production records and provide regular reports to management.
• Assist with planning and coordinating new product launches and tooling setups.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Plastics Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent technical certifications and relevant experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 – 7 years of hands-on experience in a supervisory or superintendent role in plastic manufacturing.
• Strong technical knowledge of blow molding, injection molding, and mold design and function.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing a diverse production team.
• Familiarity with plastic resin behavior, tooling setups, and processing conditions.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other process improvement methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and production processes.

Schedule:

• Full-time, may include shift work, weekends, or on-call duties depending on production demands.

Salary
N180,000 - N200,000 Monthly.
