They specialize in manufacturing globally-standard medications such as: Artemether-Lumefantrine, Ciprofloxacin, Metronidazole, Paracetamol, and condoms (Safex), and distributing these pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to healthcare providers, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies across Nigeria. Their production facilities hold CE, ISO, and TVU certifications, and all products are NAFDAC-registered.

Job Title: Business Unit Lead
Location: Ajah, Lagos
Job Summary
The Business Unit Lead will oversee the strategic direction, sales performance, and operational efficiency of a designated business unit within the pharmaceutical company.
The role requires a licensed pharmacist with strong commercial acumen, leadership skills, and in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
The ideal candidate will drive business growth, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and lead a high-performing team to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Growth:
Develop and implement business strategies to drive sales growth, market expansion, and profitability.
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and product launches to enhance market share.
Conduct market analysis to monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business unit.
Sales & Revenue Management:
Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets for the assigned business unit.
Develop sales plans, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns to boost product visibility.
Manage key accounts, distributors, and healthcare providers to ensure long-term business relationships.
Monitor sales performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure all business activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations (NAFDAC, PCN, etc.).
Oversee proper documentation, licensing, and adherence to Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Maintain high standards in product handling, storage, and distribution.
Team Leadership & Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of sales representatives, pharmacists, and support staff.
Foster a collaborative work environment, ensuring team motivation and productivity.
Conduct performance reviews and implement professional development programs.
Operational Management:
Oversee inventory management, supply chain coordination, and logistics to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Ensure efficient order processing, customer service, and timely product delivery.
Collaborate with marketing, finance, and supply chain teams for seamless operations.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, pharmacies, and distributors.
Address customer complaints and ensure high satisfaction levels.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and regulatory meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) Degree. A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or related field is an added advantage.
Licensure: Must be a registered pharmacist with thePharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in pharmaceutical sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Nigeria’s pharmaceutical market, regulatory requirements, and key industry players.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve business objectives.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in sales data analysis, market research, and business forecasting.
Communication: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Location: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Ajah, Lagos.
