Job Title: Manager, Cloud Solutions Architect
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
To lead the design, implementation, and management of LBS’s cloud architecture, on-premises server infrastructure, and critical ICT systems that support all business services.
This includes overseeing a technical team, driving strategic technology initiatives, ensuring system availability and disaster recovery, and providing 3rd-level support.
The role also ensures secure, efficient operations of Active Directory, networks, and applications, while promoting IT innovation and best practices to align with LBS’s strategic goals and deliver optimal user support.
Responsibilities
Design and evaluate architectural alternatives across private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, etc.), ensuring alignment with the school’s strategic goals and future scalability.
Provide objective advice on cloud provider selection (e.g., Google, AWS, Azure) versus on-premises infrastructure, analysing ICT requirements to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the school’s end-to-end cloud architecture, encompassing subscription management, networking, provisioning, security, and ongoing management across diverse cloud platforms.
Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for all applications, ensuring business continuity in critical situations.
Create comprehensive policies, procedures, and guidelines for cloud, server, and application operations, data protection, and system usage, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance.
Implement robust application and infrastructure monitoring to provide comprehensive oversight of operations, identify potential bottlenecks, and ensure optimal performance.
Manage identity and access for all systems and applications, implementing secure practices to protect sensitive data and intellectual property.
Lead improvement initiatives focused on optimising ICT server and cloud resources to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and minimise downtime.
Ensure the continuous readiness of the system and server infrastructure for disaster recovery, proactively updating and testing incident response and disaster recovery plans.
Embed robust security management and privacy requirements directly into cloud hardware, software, and application designs.
Act as the primary interface for both internal and external ICT customers, translating technical complexities into understandable solutions.
Serve as a major custodian for ICT service level agreements with external suppliers, ensuring vendor performance meets the school’s expectations.
Evaluate staff awareness and provide necessary training on best practices related to cloud and ICT system usage, fostering a more informed and secure user base.
Establish and maintain structures and procedures for timely, effective, proactive, and efficient user support, enhancing the overall user experience.
Prepare weekly reports on the state of the ICT infrastructure and continuously monitor the ICT dashboard to identify and address potential bottlenecks.

Requirements
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related Technology/ Science disciplines.
Minimum 5 – 9 years post-degree working experience in Enterprise system /cloud administration, with at least 3 years of managing a team or unit.
Experienced using Linux OS
Experienced with Dell Server management in an enterprise
Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and monitor patch management
Knowledge of firewalls, antivirus and IDPS concepts
Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues
Performed ICT System Administration role in an enterprise infrastructure environment with over 200 Users.
Experience using Microsoft Applications like Power Automate, SharePoint, Power BI, Office 365, Dynamics 365, e.t.c

Possess expert-level knowledge of major cloud computing functionalities across platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and eApps, enabling comprehensive solution design and optimisation.
Demonstrate strong server and network upkeep skills, including advanced system log analysis, proficiency with system tools, and administration of server security software and controls. Mandatory experience with Windows Admin Center and expertise in creating, modifying, and updating Microsoft Active Directory Policy are essential.
Apply a deep understanding of ICT risk and security regulations, methodologies, and frameworks to ensure robust security posture across all infrastructure.
Exhibit a proven ability to devise both technical and creative solutions to complex user and system challenges.
Effectively manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors, ensuring optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Possess strong managerial and organizational skills to oversee projects, resources, and teams efficiently.
Proficiently manage users within an enterprise infrastructure environment, ensuring seamless access and appropriate permissions.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette, the ability to gather detailed problem data, prepare comprehensive reports, and clearly guide users through troubleshooting security-related issues.
Foster effective team collaboration with ICT personnel, vendors, contractors, and co-workers to resolve user issues. Possess strong, flexible communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Exhibit excellent time management skills, including the ability to set priorities when handling multiple cases and consistently deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines.
Maintain a proactive and continuous approach to upgrading ICT skills, staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in the cloud and IT landscape.
