Job Title: Portfolio Project Manager - Power Generation
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary
The Portfolio Project Manager will manage a team of Project Engineers to resolve technical issues, manage 3rd party Owner’s engineers, coordinate with operations to ensure adequate design influence and buy-in, maintain project schedule, and cost forecasts and provide field project engineering coordination with construction contractors.
In addition, he will work with company Project Managers, under the direction of the Project Director, to successfully coordinate and integrate the overall Project scope, including cost reporting and budget management, schedule, quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Functions:
Coordinates ALL Project Management Activities and Functions under supervision
Having a strong focus on the economics and profitability of projects or the services rendered by the entire unit
Responsible for deploying assigned and co-opted projects within the agreed budget and deadlines
Functional in the management of the end-to-end process of the entire Portfolio of assigned Projects
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all purchasing functions and commitments of the company.
Operational:
Overall responsible for cost, schedule, safety, quality, risk management, engineering, construction and start-up of the Power Plant
Manage Project Engineers, along with other Owner’s engineers, as well as the construction manager, to ensure EPC Contractor’s adherence to standards, permits, performance, quality and safety expectations
Management and coordination of design and operational reviews and approvals fromthe client and key internal stakeholders
Supervise the operations of power plants and monitor workers to keep a steady stream of electricity flowing to homes and businesses.
Check that all equipment in the facility is up-to-date and performing to government and industry standards.
Ensure that the plant meets energy production needs while staying within a set budget.
Oversee repairs and installation of equipment, including verifying that every employee is working according to the standards set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Monitor and analyse power plant performance data to identify areas for improvement
Monitor the operation of power generation equipment to ensure that it operates within the desired specification
Implement upgrades and modifications to existing systems to improve performance and reduce environmental impact
Review/develop technical standards, specifications, drawings and documents.
Work with Management to implement internal Project Control tools
Report to Management on Power Plant progress, costs, schedule, safety, quality, etc.
Work with other company Project Managers, under the direction of the Project Director, to coordinate the integration of the Power Plant.
Responsible for project Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
Coordinate multiple contractors at various stages of the project.
Support the development of the capital cost estimate at the various project stage gates
Attend the required HSE toolbox meeting
Qualifications and Experience
B.Sc. / HND in Electrical Engineering with MBA
Minimum experience of 10-15 years’ experience in Power generation
Must be a member of a professional engineering body: COREN, NSE, IEE, etc.
Experience should include planning, budgeting, executing, monitoring and cash flow management of complex projects
Proficiency in an ERP solution and with competencies in Project Management, CAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary
N1,500,000 - N2,000,000 gross per month.
