Job Title: General Operations Manager

Role Overview
The General Operations Manager will play a critical coordination role in driving operational excellence, ensuring organisational efficiency, and supporting the smooth execution of the organisation’s multi-country programmes.
This role is responsible for overseeing internal operations, optimising systems and processes, and managing day-to-day functions across administration, procurement and contracts, compliance, facilities, and logistics.
You will work closely with leadership, department heads and leads to build a culture of accountability, implement cross-functional solutions, and support strategic growth.
While this role is not a core finance function, the ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience in budgeting to support the finance team and contribute to operational planning and decision-making.
Manage and implement day-to-day operations, including procurement, logistics, administration, facilities, and office support services.
Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely operational support for programs, events, and initiatives.
Serve as the focal point for internal administrative workflows and vendor interactions.
Procurement & Contract Administration:
Lead procurement processes in compliance with internal and donor policies, including bid solicitation, vendor selection, and contracting.
Maintain an updated vendor database and manage relationships with service providers.
Track procurement requests and delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfilment.
Logistics & Asset Management:
Oversee logistical planning and execution for organisational events, training, travel, and field missions.
Maintain a comprehensive asset register, ensuring accountability, inventory tracking, and periodic reviews.
Support resource allocation for field and office activities.
Policy & Compliance Support:
Implement existing organisational policies and procedures, and contribute to process documentation and improvement.
Ensure compliance with legal, donor, and internal operational requirements across activities.
Support internal audit preparations and respond to operational queries as needed.
IT & Facility Coordination:
Coordinate with the IT Operations personnel to ensure functional digital systems and basic tech support.
Monitor facility maintenance needs and work with vendors to address them efficiently.
Ensure all offices (Lagos, Abuja, and temporary project locations) are safe, functional, and operationally sound.
Budget & Reporting Support:
Assist in preparing operational budgets and procurement plans in collaboration with the Finance team.
Track and report on operational expenditures and variances, providing data to inform decision-making.
Maintain accurate documentation and generate periodic reports on operational performance.
Monitor performance indicators for operational efficiency and generate reports for senior management.
Support internal culture-building by fostering collaboration, accountability, and a high-performing work environment.
Requirements
5+ years of progressive experience in operations, administration, or general management in the nonprofit, development, or social enterprise sectors.
Proven experience managing complex operations in multi-programme, multi-location organisations.
Strong understanding of procurement systems, vendor and contract management, and compliance.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement operational policies and SOPs.
Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coordinate teams and stakeholders across all levels.
Knowledge of donor-funded project operations (e.g., EU, UN, USAID) is an asset.
Experience in managing security, logistics, and administrative coordination for office/ field activities is an advantage.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Development Studies, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

Salary
N350,000 - N400,000 per month.
