Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Job Summary
The Senior Finance Officer will play a key support role within the Finance function, focusing on high-quality financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
The position will work closely with the Finance Manager and other stakeholders to enhance financial decision-making, ensure accurate reporting, and improve overall financial performance across the business.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in financial modelling and planning.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Operations Support
Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reports (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in line with monthly and quarterly close schedules.
Support the Finance Manager with reconciliations, posting reviews, and investigation of discrepancies to ensure financial data integrity.
Generate financial dashboards and summaries for internal management use.
Provide analytical support to improve operating cost tracking and control.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Build and maintain budgeting and forecasting models that provide insights into performance trends.
Perform variance analysis and explain differences between actual results and forecasts.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across business units.
Support the Finance Manager in preparing the annual budget and coordinating departmental budget inputs.
Assist in maintaining cash flow forecasts and treasury schedules.
Prepare supporting documentation for tax filings and coordinate with tax consultants as needed.
Collate financial documents and working papers for internal and external audits.
Support the Finance Manager with follow-up on audit and tax compliance items.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
Recommend and implement improvements in Excel-based processes to enhance data accuracy and reduce turnaround time.
Assist in tracking compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Collaborate with relevant teams to strengthen internal financial workflows.
Project and Tender Financial Support:
Conduct gross margin analysis and financial evaluations of key business projects and bids.
Support the Business Development and Operations teams with financial data for tenders and contracts.
Develop and maintain trackers for project costs, revenue, and budget adherence.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
5 – 7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or reporting.
Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CIMA) is an added advantage.
Strong Excel skills (modelling, pivot tables, data visualization); experience with Power BI or reporting tools is a plus.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
