Kolomoni Microfinance Bank is a financial services provider committed to providing customers with unparalleled access to smart, personalized, and convenient banking experiences.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Initiative Lead - Cards & Payments

Location: Ibadan Oyo,
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • The Initiative Lead – Cards & Payments is responsible for owning and scaling all card-related products and digital payment infrastructure across Kolomoni’s ecosystem.
  • This includes virtual and physical card issuance, card transaction routing, POS integration, payment gateway operations, and partner enablement for offline/online payments.
  • The role also leads innovation around alternative digital payment solutions—wallet-to-wallet transfers, peer-to-peer payments, QR codes, and debit automation—ensuring high availability, security, and customer satisfaction across all use cases.

Key Responsibilities
Product & Initiative Ownership:

  • Lead the product lifecycle for Kolomoni’s virtual and physical card products (e.g., AfriGo, Mastercard, Verve).
  • Define the roadmap and go-to-market plan for payment-related services and card innovations (e.g., tokenization, contactless).
  • Ensure alignment with Kolomoni’s digital wallet, onboarding, and transaction framework.

Partnerships & Platform Enablement:

  • Manage relationships with issuing partners, card processors, switching companies (e.g., Interswitch, NIBSS), and card schemes.
  • Collaborate with the Channel Managers to deliver consistent and optimized card/payment experiences across Mobile, USSD, and Corporate platforms.

Payment Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the tech team to oversee the development and integration of APIs for card issuance, PIN management, card blocking, and transaction history.
  • Work with engineering to ensure reliability, scalability, and fraud protection of the payments stack.

User Experience & Support:

  • Drive card activation, funding, transaction success, and usage through thoughtful customer journeys and campaign interventions.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support and Ops to manage card-related escalations, chargebacks, and reconciliations.

Risk, Compliance, and Reconciliation:

  • Ensure full adherence to CBN regulations, PCI-DSS standards, card KYC, and anti-fraud policies.
  • Partner with Risk and Finance teams to ensure end-to-end reconciliation, float monitoring, and merchant settlements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Design and pilot informal economy card usage models (e.g., trader cards, market cashout cards) that support Oyo-based financial inclusion goals.
  • Work with the Business Transformation Manager – Oyo State to identify and embed Kolomoni cards within micro-branches, POS locations, and experience centers across underserved LGAs (e.g., Saki, Fiditi, Gbagi).
  • Launch targeted “Save to Card” and “POS Card” bundles for market women, artisans, and local cooperatives, integrating card issuance with agency savings campaigns.
  • Deploy local card activation agents in collaboration with field teams to drive regional card uptake and first-use behavior.
  • Enable transporters, cooperatives, and local retailers to accept Kolomoni cards as part of a broader merchant ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with CX and Marketing to create regional card loyalty programs (e.g., “Dugbe Card Rush,” “Oja-Oba Cashback Drive”).
  • Implement and track first-use education flows for Yoruba-speaking users on cards, PINs, and payment safety.

Required Qualification and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Statistic or related fields
  • 1 - 3 years of experience (preferably in fintech or banking).

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of card issuing, acquiring, and transaction lifecycles.
  • Understanding of EMV, PCI-DSS, 3D Secure, tokenization, BIN sponsorship, and ISO 8583.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Interswitch, NIBSS, and Appzone.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, data interpretation, and risk awareness.

Application Closing Date
1st August, 2025.
