We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Maintenance Officer

Locations: Ikeja & Magodo, Lagos

Role (With All-Round Knowledge)

• A maintenance officer with all-round knowledge is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all hotel facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.
• The role requires multi-skilled technical competence, timely response to maintenance needs, and proactive upkeep of the property.

General Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel facilities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from all departments.
• Maintain safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing surroundings for guests and staff.

Electrical Maintenance:

• Install, repair, and maintain all electrical systems (lighting, sockets, control panels, etc.).
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure regular servicing of generators, inverters, and backup systems.
• Monitor power consumption and support energy-saving initiatives.

Plumbing Works:

• Fix leakages, blocked drains, and faulty toilets or water systems.
• Monitor water pressure and ensure proper functioning of water tanks, heaters, and pumps.
• Maintain the swimming pool (if available) including filtration and water treatment systems.

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration:

• Install, service, and repair AC units and refrigerators in rooms, kitchens, and offices.
• Ensure regular cleaning of filters and compressors for optimal performance.
• Handle refrigerant gas refill and detect gas leaks when necessary.

Carpentry and Furniture Repairs:

• Repair or replace broken furniture, fittings, doors, and locks.
• Assist in assembling new furniture and fittings as needed.
• Ensure all guest room fixtures are functional and secure.

Painting and Surface Maintenance:

• Conduct minor painting jobs to maintain hotel aesthetics.
• Touch up walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with appropriate materials and colors.
• Manage damp treatment and surface damage repair.

Generator & Mechanical Systems:

• Operate, service, and troubleshoot generators and fuel systems.
• Maintain mechanical equipment like pumps, motors, and fans.
• Ensure scheduled servicing and record-keeping for equipment.

Safety Compliance & Record Keeping:

• Comply with health and safety standards in all maintenance activities.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance works, inspections, and repairs.
• Report hazards or major issues to management immediately.

Inventory and Tool Management:

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Report needs for replacement items on time.

Support to Other Departments:

• Assist kitchen, front office, housekeeping, and laundry with technical support.
• Set up equipment for events or meetings when required.
• Participate in facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 4 years work experience.
• A maintenance officer with all-round knowledge must be proactive, versatile, safety-conscious, and able to work under pressure.
• Good communication, time management, and teamwork are key.
