We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance Manager to lead our local finance team and oversee all aspects of financial operations within our Nigerian logistics business.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background from Big Four accounting firms, hands-on experience managing AR, solid SAP system knowledge, and proven expertise in team management.
Familiarity with Nigerian GAAP and tax laws is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the local finance team, including setting team members' KPIs, while ensuring excellence in financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
Oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) process, including credit control, collections, customer account reconciliations, COD (cash on delivery) reconciliations/journals posting, and cash flow optimization.
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings, in accordance with Nigerian accounting standards (NGAAP) and company policies.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Manage local statutory audits, oversee tax filings, and compliance with all Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
Serve as the SAP key user for the finance function, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency within the system.
Develop and monitor key financial KPIs and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with regions and business units.
Act as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Continuously assess and improve internal controls, risk management, and finance procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred.
Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a Finance Manager or Finance Lead role.
Big Four accounting firm experience (e.g., Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG) is required.
Proven experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is strongly preferred.
Solid experience in AR management, financial reporting, and business partnering.
Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP system is strongly preferred.
In-depth understanding of Nigerian accounting standards (NGAAP) and tax regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive, ambitious, and self-driven, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver independently without constant oversight or reminders.
Fluent in English; Chinese language skills a plus.
