Life at Best Development Initiative (LABDI) is a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2016 and presently operational in the BAY states within the North-East and Northwest. We are dedicated to save lives, alleviate the suffering of children, women, and other vulnerable people; and to maintain human dignity during and in the after math of man–made crises and natural disasters; as well as to prevent and strengthen preparedness for the occurrence of such situation; and to promote the right of children, women, and vulnerable people in the society.
This role will be responsible for implementing the cash transfer activities of the LABDI Cash and nutrition project in Yobe State ensuring that the cash transfer component is delivered in a timely manner and to a high quality.
He/ she will work closely with the project team in Yobe State as well as the CVA.The CVA officer will also coordinate and collaborate with LABDI staff and report accordingly on project progress.
The role will manage and monitor all operational and technical areas of cash activities including budget management, coordination and representation, security, logistics, compliance with internal policies and procedures of cash transfer programming.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
Project implementation:
Work closely with CVA Manager to implement cash activities.
Coordinate with LABDI counterparts in Yobe State.
Assist in sensitization of local government structures, communities and traditional authorities on the targeting criteria and identification and registration of beneficiaries.
Work close with MEAL staff to on-board enumerators to support with the registration of households receiving cash transfer.
Manage pre-paid cards (mode of cash transfer delivery) and work closely with relevant teams to ensure pre-paid cards are loaded correctly.
Oversee delivery of regular cash transfers and help ensure the resolution of any problems.
Actively participate in relevant field assessments to identify the beneficiaries’ needs and viable business opportunities, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of children’s needs.
Organize the training of cash beneficiaries on the identified needs.
Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at field level, as laid out in the detailed implementation plan.
Support in the registration of target families, ensuring that the data is collected and is recorded appropriately.
Coordinate activities with local authorities, international community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level.
Compile and submit regular project reports and updates.
Support in the retrieving of pre-paid cards distributed to program participants at community level during enrollment and ensuring it is back

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in relevant course Social Policy, Social Science, International Development, Economics or related relevant discipline
At least 3 years’ experience of working in Cash & Voucher Assistance in emergency and development settings, for a broad range of institutional donors and sectors
Previous humanitarian response experience
Understanding of Cash & Voucher Assistance in Nigeria
Experience with various cash and voucher modalities, including digital, mobile, card, paper voucher, and cash in envelopes.
Demonstrable understanding of M&E, beneficiary accountability, and learning
Experience in the application of methodologies to calculate cash/voucher amounts for sectoral outcomes, as well as for multipurpose cash transfers.
Familiar with the Sphere Standards (Handbook released in 2018)
Demonstrated program design, monitoring and evaluation skills, including designing pathways to sustainable impact at scale.
Able to generate and use data and evidence to innovate, deliver, learn and share what works and what doesn’t work for children.
Experience of promoting quality and impact through at least one cross-cutting area: gender equality and inclusion, adaptive and safer programming; child rights; disability; migration and displacement.
Experience of supporting humanitarian preparedness, response and recovery
Fluent in English and high level of English writing skills.
