We are pioneering the concept of digital freight forwarding in Africa with our mix of innovation using technology and infrastructure to optimize supply chain profitability, efficiency, accountability and reliability. We are a lean and successful business based in Lagos, with an ambitious growth target & plan to develop our network by opening offices in key markets in the coming months.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Sales Manager (Sea / Ocean Freight Forwarding) 

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve 100% of Nigeria's P&L targets for the fiscal year.
  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in the ocean freight segment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, shipping lines, port authorities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Nigerian sales team to deliver consistent and sustainable performance.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform business strategy.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Report regularly on sales performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to the CEO.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8years' experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on ocean freight sales.
  • Prior experience working with or in a top-tier freight forwarding company or shipping line.
  • Proven track record of managing sales P&L and achieving performance targets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High level of commercial awareness and business acumen.

Job-Related Skills:

  • Proven expertise in ocean freight sales and operations within Nigeria.
  • Deep understanding of the freight forwarding ecosystem and supply chain processes.
  • Ability to manage high-value client accounts and complex contracts.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues related to international shipping.

Digital Skills:

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with digital freight platforms and logistics software.

Personal Qualities:

  • Result-oriented and highly driven to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
