Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports To: Finance Manager / Director of Finance

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly competent, trustworthy, and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to sound financial decision-making.
• The ideal candidate must be proactive, ethical, and accurate, with a strong understanding of financial processes and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax computations, filings, and statutory remittances (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT).
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
• Support audits by providing documentation and answering auditor inquiries.
• Monitor bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll and ensure employee compensation is accurate and timely.
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance profitability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is highly desirable.
• 3–5 years of proven accounting experience.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Excel).
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles (e.g., IFRS).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
