We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Main Accountabilities
Execute technical work for FEED and Detailed Designs (designs, specifications, drawings, etc.) within designated scopes.
Carry out Electrical design, and generate all electrical design deliverables including but not limited to:
Load schedule.
Electro Magnetic Compatibility studies.
Electrical Key and Single Line Diagrams.
Substation/Switch room Layout Drawings.
Power Generation and Distribution Philosophy.
Systems Operations Philosophy.
MTO
Connection Diagrams.
Cable Sizing Calculation and Selection Report.
Cable Tray and Cable Routing Layout Drawings.
Lighting and Small Power Layout Drawings.
Earthing Layout Drawings.
Electrical Heat Tracing Drawings.
Electrical Specifications and Data Sheets.
Building Layout Drawings.
Bid Packages for Competitive Bidding.
Purchase Orders for all Materials.
Equipment Specifications.
Equipment Data Sheets and Drawings.
Perform Power System Studies (Including but not limited to Short circuit/load flow, Fault level, Motor Starting etc).
Carry out appropriate discipline and inter discipline checks and reviews of engineering and design work
Follow-on engineering: Remain engaged in design issues and decisions throughout construction, commissioning and start-up
Ensure Integration of Electrical Engineering design from all other vendor packages
Review of construction drawings for Installation and Construction activities
Supervision of construction activities
Update of As-Built documentation as required
Create demonstrable value for customers by understanding their drivers and critical success factors.
Deliver continuously improving performance, benchmarked as top tier in the industry.
Ensure own discipline engineering and design work are successfully delivered and appropriate reviews conducted.
Ensure quality of technical work and the technical integrity, functionality, constructability, safe operation and of reliability of designs.
Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle.
Contribute to Safety and Operability review (SAFOP) study.
Maintain effective interfaces and relationships within/between disciplines within the design office and members of Projects/Customer teams.
Keep track on the execution schedule and report any issues to stakeholders.
Support the construction team in the development of work pack for field execution.
Support the CSU team in the handover of equipment and documentation to the operation team.
Carry out verification and follow-up on the update to as-built documents.
Qualifications, Experience and Competence Requirements
COREN Registered Professional Engineer.
B.Eng./B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
Master’s degree in Engineering (added advantage).
15 years of experience in design of offshore oil and gas production facilities including 12 years’ experience in engineering design of oil facilities, petrochemical or oil and gas handling projects and training/competence development for junior engineers.
Thorough knowledge of oil field engineering construction methods including its practice and procedures.
Demonstrated experience working on engineering teams on at least 3 projects of total value US$15 MM each construction contract value.
Familiar with codes standards regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of offshore structures/production facilities, including: IEC, IOGP etc
Effective communication within team and with stakeholders.
Construction experience in Electrical installations for Oil and Gas facilities.
Knowledge drawings mark-up and As-Built documentation.
Knowledge drawings mark-up and As-Built documentation
Skilled in use of ETAP for Power System Studies (Including but not limited to Short circuit/load flow, Fault level, Motor Starting etc).
Knowledge of Bonga FPSO would be an added advantage.
Skilled use of drawing tools for Electrical drawings.
Skilled use of the MS Office suite.
A good understanding of Industry, DEPs and Shell Design Standards.
Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team as well as to work independently with minimum supervision.
Must have knowledge/skill level in HSSE and applications within the Oil and gas Industry.
