African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) was established in Abuja, Nigeria in October, 1993 by African Governments, African private and institutional investors as well as non-African financial institutions and private investors for the purpose of financing, promoting and expanding intra-African and extra-African trade.
The Bank, headquartered in Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, commenced operations on 30 September, 1994, following the signature of a Headquarters Agreement with the host Government in August, 1994. It has branch offices in Harare, Abuja and Abidjan and will open an East Africa branch office shortly.

Job Title: Head of MANSA (Africa Trade Gateway - Due Diligence Platform)

Job Summary
Afreximbank is seeking to recruit an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Head of MANSA – Africa’s centralized due diligence platform and a cornerstone of the Africa Trade Gateway (ATG).
The role is critical in transforming MANSA from a compliance repository into a dynamic trust infrastructure driving trade facilitation, financial inclusion, and transparency across Africa under the AfCFTA.
This highly strategic role will be responsible for leading the vision, strategy, ecosystem partnerships, platform monetization, and commercial adoption of MANSA. It presents an opportunity to shape how Africa builds trust in trade through scalable digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Translate MANSA’s mandate into a comprehensive growth roadmap focused on verified profiles, platform adoption, and regulatory partnerships.
Position MANSA as the pan-African due diligence tool of choice across public and private sectors.
Drive strategic integrations with AfCFTA, credit bureaus, financial institutions, compliance utilities, and trade networks.
Lead commercialization through subscription models, APIs, premium services, and consulting partnerships.
Ensure platform compliance with ISO standards, data privacy, and regional legal frameworks.
Represent MANSA at regional and global compliance and trade forums (e.g. FATF, World Bank, GLEIF).
Manage governance of verification workflows and ownership transparency (e.g. Ultimate Beneficial Ownership data).
Build and lead a high-performing team, while influencing internal and external stakeholders on MANSA’s vision and impact.
Qualifications & Experience
A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Compliance, Digital Platforms, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CAMS, CFE, AML/CFT) are strongly preferred.
A minimum of 15 years’ experience in digital compliance, financial technology, or trade ecosystems; at least 7 years must be in senior leadership roles in KYC/AML/CDD.
Proven experience in managing digital trust platforms or data infrastructure at scale.
Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement across regulatory, financial, and development institutions.
Fluency in English is required; French, Arabic, or Portuguese is an asset.
Technical & Behavioural Competencies:
Deep understanding of compliance regulations, AML frameworks, and regtech innovation.
Experience in product monetisation, digital platform scaling, and cross-border partnerships.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
Effective communication and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
