The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the LPG gas plant in Gaduwa, Abuja, ensuring efficient and safe processes from product receipt to order fulfillment.
This role involves direct supervision of plant personnel, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance of equipment, and strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
The supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining operational capacity, minimizing downtime, and fostering a strong safety culture among all stakeholders.

Plant Operations & Management:
Supervise and coordinate all daily plant activities, including truck loading and offloading, cylinder filling, and inventory management, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company SOPs.
Monitor plant operations and periodically report on technical performance, including inventory statistics, inventory losses, and equipment maintenance history.
Ensure all filling and measuring equipment iswell-calibrated and dispenses accurately at all times.
Provide technical support to on-site personnel, vendors, and contractors.
Liaise with relevant units to ensure all regulatory licenses are up-to-date and valid.
Identify, analyze, and develop solutions for operational problems, displaying high levels of proactivity.
Contribute to achieving set plant goals and targets, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
Ensure strict adherence to all HSE standard regulations and guidelines in all plant operations.
Support the implementation and continuous evaluation of a robust Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) monitoring framework, incorporating statutory requirements, updated standards, and feedback.
Ensure the development, review, and implementation of Emergency Situation and Contingency Plans, monitoring compliance.
Oversee the development and implementation of waste management plans and monitor compliance.
Organize and conduct HSE Awareness training programs (e.g., toolbox meetings, pep talks) for employees, visitors, vendors, customers, neighbors, and business partners, educating them on prevention and control, occupational health, first aid, and emergency response.
Investigate all accidents and near misses, rendering timely reports with recommendations for future prevention.
Carry out regular audits of the plant and installations to ensure adherence to HSE standards of performance and the elimination of unsafe conditions and practices.
Identify, appoint, and train Safety Marshalls for different aspects of HSE requirements.
Prepare periodic HSE updates on company activities and HSE-related incidents.
Maintenance:
Develop, implement, and report on Preventive Maintenance schedules for all plant equipment.
Engage with vendors to ensure prompt close-out on corrective maintenance of plant equipment.
Strive for zero downtime due to equipment unavailability.
Maintain a register of vendors and service providers and work with the Plant Manager to ensure prompt resolution of equipment breakdowns.
Generate periodic reports on equipment status and plant assets.
Work with the Plant Accountant on asset amortization and disposal as scheduled.
Requirements
Minimum of HND in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or Environmental/Chemical Sciences from a recognized institution. Technical College Certification + relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of an HND qualification. Safety Certifications (eg,HSE Level 3 or its equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in plant operations within the Oil & Gas industry, specifically with hands-on experience in LPG or gas-related functions.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong people skills. Business process management skills. In-depth knowledge of LPG plants and equipment. Strong knowledge of HSE, especially within the LPG industry/environment.
Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 Monthly.
